I felt I had to include the repetitive part in my title. A previous review said this model has "almost no repetition" which is a completely false statement. If anything, like the tower bridge, this model is extremely repetitive, to the point where I was batch building the same assets over and over (see pics) However, that's not a bad thing, with a little patience it's totally worth it for the end result. I don't think I own a more detailed, beautiful model. If I step back a couple of meters it almost doesn't look like it's Lego. It's comprised mainly of smaller pieces, so expect a fiddly, challenging build, but a rewarding one.

One of my favorite things about the larger kits is the interesting bits and the creativity involved in creating them, that you get to see when putting the kit together. The Ghostbusters Firehouse, for example, was roughly comparable in scope, and a ton of fun. There is always going to be some repetition in the larger kits, but usually not so much as to spoil the experience. I felt, with the Big Ben kit, like I was working in a lego-building factory. I would open a bag, see the parts inside, and immediately start to build the panels for the clock tower sides, without even needing the instructions, because so much of it was building the same side panels. The rest of the building offered a slight variation, but not by much. Looking at it, you know there will be some repetition, but out of an entire closet of kits, this is the very first time I have ever been putting together a lego set and had to take a break because I was too bored to go on. That said, it was still a nice looking structure when complete, and I enjoy the mechanic of turning the clock a bit.

Nice Clock Tower

By alecworld

Comments about LEGO Architecture Big Ben (21013):

The Big Ben is another interesting set from Lego Architecture. I was lucky enough to find it in a Duty Free shop while travelling given this set has been retired. As always it was fun to build it and would recommend it. On the other hand, I was surprised about how quick one can build it. It took me 1 hour and 10 minutes and I'm far from being a Lego specialist, I actually consider myself a Novice. Please bear in mind that there are several small bricks to be fitted in tiny spaces so I don't think this can be suitable for someone with big fingers. The level of detail is quite good and once again Lego did a very good job on this. Looking forward to my next set!

Best Lego model yet!

By Wumpus27

Comments about LEGO Architecture Big Ben (21013):

This really is a superb set, not quite finished it yet as due to having two younger kids I have to slot in building time over many days but the gradual build is actually more satisfying. There's a lot here for the money so for me it's excellent value too. Yes, there is a fair bit of repetition as some have mentioned but that's the nature of the building and it looks so good as you complete each level that it doesn't matter. Since getting the Lego bug again as an adult with the Red 5 X Wing 2 years ago I've built a fair few of the larger sets and this is by far the most impressive as well as providing a challenging but enjoyable build. Highly recommended!

Brilliant

Comments about LEGO Architecture Big Ben (21013):

This set is simply brilliant. As soon as I saw it was being released I was thrilled! I bought this the day it became avalible to VIP. Its such a lovely set when completed and looks great on display. It's very detailed in so many ways from the clock face to even the small details like the little tree. It's a great touch to be able to turn the clock hands from a twist behind the building. The box of this product is also outstanding and is a wonderful piece of art. I haven't yet bought tower bridge, but now I'm tempted after seeing how amazing Big Ben is in eye sight. I think anyone would love this set especially new builders as its a name we all know.. Big Ben! Hopefully Lego will design a London Eye to go with it!

Best Christmas Present

Comments about LEGO Architecture Big Ben (21013):

My husband bought this for me for Christmas. After building the Tower Bridge a few years earlier, I was so excited to unwrap this present. Was not disappointed one bit! If it wasn't Christmas break and spending time with the family, I probably could have finished a day sooner.

Quick to build

Comments about LEGO Architecture Big Ben (21013):

I built this model today and was surprised by how quick it was to build it. I did find there are a lot of small bricks that have to be fitted into some quite small gaps so this would not be suitable for people who struggle with using only their thumb and index finger. I like the detail that is in the model considering the size of it and would give one to a friend if it wasn't a retired product.

First LEGO® Architecture

Comments about LEGO Architecture Big Ben (21013):

First Architecture kit build, have always been a bit ware as Im one of those that more bricks the better. But as it was on my Christmas list it appeared and got built. Like the book and the build was easy but the outcome looks great. Wife thinks its a bit blocky but being from an era of blocky builds it looks great to me. Cant wait to get the rest. Question is death star or 10+ Architecture kits...

Great value for money

Comments about LEGO Architecture Big Ben (21013):

For over 4,000 pieces this set was excellent value for money. The build itself was a little bit fiddley and slightly repetitive. Overall it was a fun build and the finished product was well worth it. The detail is great.
