Features

Touch-screen technology

The MobiGo features a touch sensitive LCD screen and operates in a variety of ways with slight pressure from little fingers. The directional pad offers all-round dexterity and gives children control over the handheld console.

QWERTY keyboard

A slide-out QWERTY keyboard adds a stylish touch and gives kids a chance to familiarize themselves with a keyboard layout. They can use the keyboard to type their names and give the answers in letter-based games.

Interactive games

The MobiGo comes with a Touch & Learn game pack. Whether solving math problems to shoot down spaceships or drawing lines and shapes to help Sam the Squirrel, kids control the difficulty level and will discover a world of fun in six different games and exercises.

Collect them all!

Kids can emulate their parent's gadgets while learning from characters like Shrek, Disney Princesses and Dora the Explorer (all game cartridges sold separately). As they tap, slide or flick with the MobiGo, kids pick the way they play and learn about colors, shapes, spelling, math, logic and more.

Online connectivity

Children can take advantage of free downloads with the VTech Download Manager. This easy-to-use program browses through a selection of free games and transfers them to the MobiGo through the included USB cable.

Accessories

An AC adaptor and a car charger keep the MobiGo charged and ready for learning fun at home and on the go, and a sturdy carry case protects the MobiGo from knocks and scratches (accessories not included).

I loved video games as a child and whenever I get a chance I love to play my Wii. I am one of those parents that love technology and can't wait to expose my children to it. My 3 year old, loves anything with batteries, if it lights up, makes music, or has buttons it is right up his alley. Well until now I thought he might be a little young for the responsibility of a video game system. I couldn't bear to spend[$] (and more when you buy the games and accessories) for something that he is too young for. I will say though he is a master at working my iPod Touch – he re-arranges and loads his games, watches movies, and even plays music on it!So when I heard about the VTech MobiGo I was skeptical that he might be too young for it (he just turned 3 in January) but I was secretly hoping he would love it so I could have my iPod Touch back! Well guess what, he loves it! After a day of playing it, he immediately figured out the game it came with and I think he actually understands how to play it.The MobiGo comes with one cartridge called the "Touch & Learn Game Pack." Within that game is actually six games. One game wants you to tap the number on the pull-out keyboard (like those fancy cell phones out there) that corresponds with the number on the floating duck. Another game wants to you pick which doesn't belong, you have to draw shapes with another, use critical thinking skills in a puzzle-like situation, use simple math and more! At first, yes he pushed buttons and touched the screen – yes it is touch screen! (Think of it as an iPod Touch for kids!) Then I noticed he understood what the games were requiring from him and he was trying. For example, the one game he just kept tapping the keyboard then he realized when the duck floating by had an "A" on it, he needed to find "A" on the keyboard.Aidan is doing so well and I love that he is learning and doesn't even realize it! He also thinks he is super cool and carries his MobiGo all over the house with him. I also will say that the rubber around it and size makes it quite durable as my 2 and 3 year old have been a little rough with it this week! I also can't wait for all the games to come out, not that Aidan is even close to being sick of this game, but now that I know he likes it, I want to encourage it and not let him get bored! I applaud VTech too for basically including the six games as not everyone can afford games right away and all the games included cover basic school skills in a fun way. This is definitely my favorite so far of our VTech toys and I love that it is touch screen since the buttons and control panel is not the easiest to grasp for a 3 year old. Now for an older child, the arrows are no problem and they probably prefer that because it makes it seem more grown up!Honestly I have yet to see a flaw with this system. My son absolutely loves it and it is so easy for him to use and hold in his little hands. It does require 4 "AA" batteries (not included) but I am using rechargeable batteries or you can purchase a AC/DC 9V 300mA adapter (or you might already have one from another toy!) Now Aidan is not so much into an actual computer yet, but when he is I love that I can hook up the MobiGo via USB and show him his scores to receive awards and extras! Overall, we do love this toy and with its durability and list of games I see it being a favorite for a long time!

I bought two of these for my twins sons for their 3rd birthday. They love the touch screen feature and the slide out keyboard. They really love them, and ask for them every morning when they wake up. The games are fun, yet educational.
The 2 major flaws of this system are that you either fly through batteries, or have to plug in with an AC adaptor (not included). The twins do not like to have their mobility hindered this way, so plugging in causes meltdowns at our house. If it were chargeable like other gaming systems, they would truly have an awesome product.
The second flaw that I see to it are the "free game downloads". You can only download 3 games at a time because of the very limited system memory, and once you shut the system off or if the batteries run dead while you are playing, you lose those downloads. So every time they turn the game off, the games are gone! In less than an hours time I downloaded their games 3 times each, and then finally just told them no more! You can purchase a game storage catridge from them that holds roughly 30 of these downloadable games. Not sure how well that works since I haven't bought them yet. Will have to soon, to avoid temper tantrums. Overall its a great system for the kids, but a real pain for the parents. Would hope they consider these flaws for the next system.

Comments about Vtech 1001126 VTech MobiGo Touch Learning System - Blue:

the game storage cartridge lasted about 3 months and no longer works on the player, says "system error". It's the cartridge not the player because all the other cartridges that we bought work just fine.

We have 2 of them, 1 is the blue one and 1 is the pink one. We got one March 2013 and it works amazingly still. Our 4 year old really takes care of it. We got the 2nd one for Christmas this year for our now 3 year old who loved her sisters. She too takes great care of it. They sit together and play their games and love the Hamster Highway game that it comes with. (downloaded already) Only thing I would say about this is you need more colors! We have a 2 year old who will be 3 in September and she already wants one but I told her to wait for her birthday. I will now have to decide which one of her sisters she will have to match and then find a way to make them "different". Over all though we as parents are happy and have had no issues and our children are very happy. Take care of it and always make sure to turn it off and store it in their travel case. It is never thrown, dropped, or left on for extended periods of time. GREAT product!

My 3 yr old loves the mobigo. We got it when he was 2 and a half and it took a few months before he was able to use the touch screen well enough to play some of the games. This was a lifesaver when it came to long grocery trips. After about six months though, I started to notice problems...screen freezing up, charger not charging, it does eat through batteries. The biggest problem now is that none of the game cartridges work in it. We bought several games, so I will be buying another mobigo for him. If you're thinking of getting this I would recommend getting the buyer protection plan as well.
