Product Description

Strolling around with two children has never been easier with this versatile Caboose Stand-On Tandem Stroller in black from Joovy® which allows an older child to stand on its patented rear platform while a younger child rides comfortably in front. If the standing child tires, they can turn around and rest on the padded rear seat. Parents will also appreciate the rear platform; there's no more lifting a heavier older child in and out of the stroller when they want to sit or get tired. The rear stand-on platform and the rear bench seat are designed for a child that is at least 2 1/2 years old but less than 40 inches tall. The lightweight, compact Caboose comes fully-equipped with a universal car seat attachment system that accommodates an infant car seat in front, so it can be used with a brand new arrival. The front seat has two positions. The fully upright position should only be used for a child that is at least six months old. It also has a large basket and storage pockets to carry all the essentials.

Features

  • Rear Stand On Platform. Front Seat for second child
  • Universal Car Seat Attachment Bar
  • Most compact tandem stroller available
  • Ratcheting Canopy with Canopy Stretchers
  • Easy trigger fold with folding lock

Love this stroller. I spent a lot of time researching strollers and found this one would suit my needs the best. My children are three years apart so my youngest would be up front and my oldest would have the option to ride if she was tired. She has never been a stroller girl so a full double stroller was not something I needed. The joovy is the shortest in length you will find for a sit and stand so yes it can be crunchy in the back if you have the front seat reclined. However, I would rather this than to push a limo stroller. I also decided to choose this Joovy over the ultralight b/c for 100 dollars more I was only getting 4 lbs less of weight. I am a very petite woman but know that 4 lbs and a cup holder is not worth my extra money. So I purchased the cup holder for Joovy separate with a coupon and saved myself some money. We will be taking this stroller to Disney in a few months and I puchased the all weather seat pad for it from BRU (see it for my rating). It has made the front more cushioned.

I did a lot of research into double strollers while pregnant with my second child, and came to the conclusion that the Joovy Caboose was for us. Not only did it come with the infant car seat converter (some brands sell them separately), it would allow my older child to sit or stand rather than just stand on the back platform. It seemed like an easy choice.

The stroller itself is sturdy (if not downright heavy, coming in at 27 pounds), but if you use it with the infant car seat adapter, you must recline the front seat back all the way. Once you do this, there is no place for the older/bigger child to sit. In fact, my daughter looked downright uncomfortable standing with her knees so close to the seat provided. (My daughter is four, but petite; well within the weight/height limits the manufacturer specifies.) You also cannot reach the cargo basket easily in this configuration. Also note that the infant car seats do NOT snap into place on this stroller; you must use the provided straps to securely attach it to the frame. If you're looking for "snap and go", this is not the model for you.

If you plan to use this system with a toddler and an infant over six months of age, who can use the front seat without their car seat, this is the product for you.

Comments about Joovy Caboose Stand-On Tandem Stroller - Black:

I've only had the stroller for a couple weeks, but love it so far! It steers nice especially compared to the Graco and Baby Trend sit and stands I have tried. I have an infant and 3 yr old so it's perfect for big brother to hop on when his legs need a rest! The bar that holds an infant seat is much nicer than I expected. The stroller is heavier than I thought it would be, but folds up significantly smaller than my single Chicco stroller! This is a great stroller, especially for the price!!

Comments about Joovy Caboose Stand-On Tandem Stroller - Black:

The stroller is wonderful. It folds up small enough to store in the back of my suv and was very easy to assembly fold and use. I have 2 special needs children that benefit from being able to keep them in one area safe. The seat that's adjustable on the back makes it easier when you have a little taller child in the back. My daughter who rides in the front has traumatic brain injury times 5 and had cerebral palsy and the straps and seat in the front works wonderful for her. Anyone who has as a small sub cargo area it is the only sit and stand stroller that fits.

Comments about Joovy Caboose Stand-On Tandem Stroller - Black:

I kept hesitating to buy this stroller and finally did. I really like it. It holds two small children in the same space as a single stroller. I did not use it with a carseat. We have another double stroller that converts to a sit-n-stand, but it was getting heavy for me to push and I always have to take off the tray and sunshade to get it to fit in my car trunk. So I bought the Joovy and love it. I first used it at the mall and steered it with one hand while carrying a food tray with the other and pushing two kids. I've used it on the walking trail at the park. The fabric is very high quality. The front seat seems a bit bigger than the graco ready to grow. The seat has one recline position and is easy to do. The sunshade will only cover the child in the front. If you are a person who needs a giant diaper bag this is not the stroller for you. I also purchased an inexpensive bag/cupholder to attach to the handle since it didn't come with one. I am happy with it for use in place of an umbrella stroller - much studier, holds two children, feels higher end, small footprint, steers easily! Both my boys like it.

Comments about Joovy Caboose Stand-On Tandem Stroller - Black:

This is a good stroller but a couple things to keep in mind...
        - when the infant carrier is in front, the front seat has to recline and it is hard for a kid to sit comfortably in the back.
-the basket underneath is very little
        - my older child sometimes falls asleep in the car so then this stroller is useless
        - I will say I like how the maneuverability of this stroller much better than the baby trend sit n stand
        - wish this stroller had parent cup holders
        - overall, I think this stroller will work well when my baby is out of carrier and my older child is done napping

Comments about Joovy Caboose Stand-On Tandem Stroller - Black:

I did so much research when I was expected my 2nd baby and when I finally went to the stores to check out my favorites, this one turned out to fall to the bottom of my list. (It was at the top because of its weight).

The caboose is smaller and shorter than most tandem strollers, but it still isn't as smooth when it comes to maneuvering as the side by side CityMini or Britax B-Agile. I folded it down and it's even longer than the side by side which will take a little more room in your trunk. I also lifted it right before lifting the CityMini and even though it's supposed to be lighter by 4 pounds, it didn't feel lighter. Maybe because it's kid of awkward to lift when folded down.

The back seat doesn't seem as comfortable as the side by side strollers either. I wanted to get the Too seat for the 2nd child so they could recline, but it just seems like a lower quality than the CitiMini and Britax. The canopy also doesn't cover both babies entirely and it's an odd setup so to get an add on shade would still be difficult to attach.

I'd recommend you go try it out before you buy this to make sure it really fits your needs.

I was in the market for a double stroller that would be comfortable for my newborn and four year old. This stroller is quite basic. the front seat doesn't come with any cushions. The bench is uncomfortable for older child even if the front seat isn't in the reclined position. Also the bench seat slides back and forth and doesn't have a locked position. I wouldn't recommend this stroller. It's heavy, doesn't bring cup holders and the storage area is really small. The only thing I liked about this stroller is that it's black and my Graco car seat fit.
