My son is almost three and loves this train! It's lasted us over a year and proves to be sturdy. It also drives on berber carpet and over tile.

We have bought 3 of the battery powered trains since Christmas. James, Salty and Percy. One of Salty's middle wheels fell off when the train was dropped and then a couple of months later, it completely STOPPED working. My son dropped James the day we bought it and a wheel fell off. Within a week, James quit working. His light still works but when you push the button, he will not move. By some miracle, Percy is still working. I am very disappointed. My son loves these trains, and I will pay for them if they are gonna work, but they are not worth the price if they are just gonna keep breaking.

This has broken 3 times, and we can only get it online. Toys R Us does not refund shipping when it is returned to the store. Disappointed in quality and customer service.

Battery is located in the back car. Electric wires are in the middle connecting both car and front train. We noticed that train wasn't working and kept replacing batteries but to no avail. The electric wires easily broke so there was no power from the batteries running through the train. AWFUL!!! WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY! We tried contacting the Thomas company to inform them but no contact info. BAD!!!

my 2 year old has 3 different battery operated trains and they all work well.
He runs all 3 at once and enjoys pushing the non battery ones as well. We actually have had them pull 4 to 5 others trains behind them with no problem at all.

I expected this to be a good toy since it's expensive. However, after one day's play it stopped working. Light is on but the train simple refuse to make a movement.

For the money very disappointed. James could not go up any hills. Not ever the true Thomas tracks with the groves. My boy got frustrated and doesn't even use the motor. Just pushes it.

We got this for my son's second birthday and we all loved it at first. it pulled other trains, etc., though it struggled up Thomas-track hills. It stopped working and we replaced the battery. Then it only worked sporadically. We replaced the battery again and now it doesn't work at all. We have had this toy for only two weeks and it is already broken, but not at all from misuse. Totally disappointing.

Bought this train for my 4-yr old's birthday. Worked great for one day and then it started having problems - would only move sporadically. It's now day 3 - the headlight still works, but it won't move at all. Definitely not worth the money they want for it.
