Free Store Pickup

Free Store Pickup (in 1 hour or less / 5 to 10 day pickup) is a program that allows you to purchase your favorite items online, but pick them up in your local store. You save shipping and have the option to get your items faster! You will receive a "Ready for Store Pickup" e-mail confirming the item is in stock and ready to be picked up.

Note: For 1 hour or less orders.
Orders are ready for store pickup in 1 hour or less when ordered between store opening and 8 PM. Please check store hours before picking up your order. If ordered outside of normal store hours, your order will be processed upon store opening.

Note: For 5-10 day orders.
Orders being shipping to a store location for pickup will take 5-10 days to arrive. Please allow 14-28 days for orders shipping to our Express/Outlet stores and stores located in HI, AK or PR.

How does it work?

All items eligible for the free store pickup program will have a "Free Store Pickup" message. You will be presented with several options for delivery based upon your needs. If you choose the Store Pickup option, just follow a few simple steps when adding the item to your cart:
  1. Click on the specific item you are interested in.
  2. When you are ready to add the item to your cart, you are given the option to "Select a Store".
  3. Click on "Select a Store".
  4. Enter your five-digit ZIP code and we'll check for product availability in the stores closest to you.
  5. If the item is available, there will be an "Add to Cart" button next to the store location.

Is every item eligible for pickup?

Not all stores and items are available for the free store pickup program. You can check each item's availability by looking for the "Eligible for Store Pickup" message on each item detail page. Click here for additional information on item availability.

Can I pick some items up at a store and have some shipped to my home?

Of course! No need to place multiple orders. Just be sure to make the appropriate selections either when adding to your shopping cart or when reviewing your items in cart.

Store Pickup orders that include shipment of a Free Gift with Purchase or a Buy "X" Get "Y" Free Offer
  • Store Pickup Orders placed that include a Free Gift with Purchase or a Buy "X", Get "Y" Free offer where the "Free" item is shipped, must be picked up at the selected store location before the "Free" item(s) will be shipped from our warehouse. Failure to pick up the order within the 5 day pickup window will result in cancellation of both the Store Pickup order and the free shipping item(s).
    All Gift with Purchase and a Buy "X", Get "Y" Free offers are available only while supplies last. While we will make every effort to ensure that your GWP (Gift With Purchase) or Free item(s) are available, due to the timing of your Store Pickup order, Free items may no longer be available for shipping

Can I select multiple pickup stores in one order?

Yes, you can! Simply select the appropriate store locations for each item you add to cart and your order will be processed accordingly. Just remember that you will be required to pick up the order at each location selected; we do not allow anyone other than the purchaser to pick up an in store pickup order, unless a designated recipient or proxy is included to pick up the order in your place. Additionally, some items might have limits or restrictions which will preclude you from buying in multiple locations.

Do I pay online or in store?

Your credit card and/or gift card will be charged online. For more information, click here. Please note that the Pay in Store payment option is not available for Store Pickup orders.

Can I change the store, once I've selected it?

If you change your mind when reviewing your cart and decide you want to pick up the item at a different location or ship it instead, not to worry, you can edit the item in the "How to get it" section in cart with just a few simple clicks. However once the order has been placed, there is no way to change the store location.

Store Pickup order status

You can view your order status by selecting the link in your order acknowledgement or ready for pickup email. If you made the purchase through your account, you can view your order by logging in to your account and selecting My Orders.

How will I know when to go to the store?

You may go to the store after you have received the "Ready for Store Pickup" e-mail. Please do not confuse this with any other e-mail communication about your order such as the order acknowledgement, order status etc.

How long will the store hold my order?

Your "Ready for Store Pickup" e-mail will provide you with detail for the number of days in which you have to pick up your order; typically, this will be 5 days from the receipt of the "Ready for Store Pickup" e-mail. If, after 5* days, your order has not been picked up, your order will be cancelled and a refund will be processed back to the original method of payment. *Note: At certain times of the year Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us may change the time frame in which you have to pick up your order in order to better accommodate our guests and store associates. Please be sure to check your "Ready for Store Pickup" e-mail for the exact time frame.

Do I need to bring anything to the store when I pickup my order?

Yes, you will need the following items when picking up your order:
  1. "Ready for Store Pickup" E-mail (1 for each store selected)
  2. Valid ID: Driver's License or government- issued ID (where the first and last names match the billing name entered for the order or the Family & Friends Pickup designated recipient)

Where do I pick up my order?

Easy! There are multiple ways you can check-in to pick up your order (after receiving your "Ready for Store Pickup" e-mail).

OPTION 1: Go to the store that you selected as your pickup destination. If you have a smart phone you can click on the mobile check-in link in your "Ready for Store Pickup" e-mail. Hitting "Confirm" will notify the store that you have arrived. Proceed to the "Merchandise Pickup Location" with your "Ready for Store Pickup" e-mail along with your valid ID. The store associate will retrieve your order and complete your transaction.

OPTION 2: Go to the store that you selected as your pickup destination. Proceed to the "Merchandise Pickup Location" with your "Ready for Store Pickup" e-mail and valid ID. To check in, use the scanner to scan the barcode on your "Ready for Store Pickup" e-mail. This will send an alert to the store associate who will then retrieve your order and complete your transaction.

Can I have someone pick up my order for me?

Absolutely! If you would like someone else, other than yourself, to pick up your order, you can select this option on the Review Your Order page in checkout. Under "Store Pickup Option", simply select the "Someone else will pick up this item(s)" option. It's important to note that whomever you select to pick up the order will be the only person, aside from you, who will be able to do so. They will need to provide valid ID at the time of pick up to confirm they are the designated recipient.

How can I obtain a gift receipt for my Store Pickup order?

After you have picked up your order, a gift receipt will be emailed to the email you used to place the order.

How do I cancel or return my purchase?

Store Pickup orders are processed immediately once the order is placed and as a result, the option to modify or cancel the order is unavailable. The order will be automatically cancelled if it is not picked up within 5 days of receiving your "Ready for Store Pickup" e-mail and a full refund will be posted to your original payment method.

Returning your purchase is easy. Simply visit Guest Services at any Toys"R"Us or Babies"R"Us store and bring your "Ready for Store Pickup" e-mail which contains a return barcode to assist in expediting the process.

Are there any restrictions?

There are a few restrictions you should be aware of:
  • Only the designated recipient or proxy or the individual that placed the order may pick the order up, no exceptions.
  • You, or your designated recipient or proxy, will not be allowed to pick up your order without the "Ready for Store Pickup" e-mail and a valid ID.
  • Pre-Ordered items are not eligible for Store Pickup.
  • Pay in Store payment option is not available for Store Pickup.
