Tis' nothing better than the Christmas Holiday Season!! And what better way to become jolly for the Holiday season than fun Christmas facts! Christmas became a national U.S. holiday in 1870. The song 'Jingle Bells' was actually written for the Thanksgiving Holiday but in later years was more popular for the Christmas season. If you receive all the gifts that are listed in the song Twelve Days of Christmas - you would get 364 presents! Electric lights for trees were first used in 1895. Wassailing is the old term used for Christmas caroling stemming back from Old English customs which means wishing neighbors and long and healthy life! During the Christmas season, just Visa Cards alone are used an average of 5,340 times every minute only in the United States. And last fun fact - Christmas trees are edible!!! Pines, spruce, and fir needles are a great source of Vitamin C and the pine cones on the trees are a good source of nutrition!

Poorly done lighting spoils nice tree

By Su

Comments about ShindigZ 7 1/2 foot Kingswood Fir Hinged Pencil Tree with 350 Multi Lights:

Pros: The tree is very narrow, but fits nicely into a small floor space and is fairly full.
1. Very, very poorly done lighting. There are four lighting strings, which do not connect together in the tree, because each string has only one end attachable end - a male-female plug. All strings hang down and each plug trails about 3 feet on the floor, creating a very unsightly, awkward mess. You can hook the plugs together at the floor level, but you need two wall sockets, because if you hook all four plugs together, they are too heavy to stay in a socket.
2. No customer service - the toll-free help line listed in the assembly brochure is never answered. I let it ring for over an hour on a weekday. I then tried calling their "new sales" number and leaving a message, but I never got a return call.
3. Tree tilts visibly once assembled, so I had to shim one leg on the tree stand, and it is less stable as a result.
As a result, I will be buying a new tree next year - but never again from this maker.
