This bike is super cute and very sturdy. It could not have been easier to assemble: Pop one wheel on & tighten. Pop the handlebars in & tighten. Pop the seat on & tighten. Ride.

I bought this for my 6 year old who is just not that into bikes enough to try to ride one without training wheels. She's about 46" tall & probably about 45lbs. She did fit in the age / weight requirements but this bike was too small for her.

It's not so much that it's too short, because how close to the ground it was actually was helpful to her confidence and sense of safety. The problem was actually how tiny the seat was. The place to put her feet was super tiny too, so that really both her feet didn't fit at the same time. I'm going to stick with the balance bike method but go up a size. After just a few minutes I saw progress for her, but how tiny the equipment was kept interfering with her ability to operate it. If you have a kid 4 or under, I think this would be great!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
