After playing with fairly robust helicopters (Fastlane and Air Hogs), I ordered this item. At home I first noticed that the mounting itself was of poor quality (electric conductors were not correctly routed).
While flying, when the engines are slowed down, the helicopter always falls upside down or aside. Within an hour of such "landings" (falling from max 1 meter high) the tail (made of styrofoam) and one of the rotor arms (plastic structure) broke, rendering the toy useless.

This must be the third or so of these we have received. So disappointed that it breaks right out of the box or shortly thereafter. Would have given 0 stars if possible.

I am very disapointed in this product, this was a Christmas gift for my son, we took it out of the box and added batteries, the thing was very strong and came at us like it was on a mission, we finally got it up in the air, it came down as it lost power and crashed...needless to say the tail end broke off, we tried to use adhesive to put it back on, but since it is styrofoam it was not working, we tried to fly it again but the end broke off again, we tried charging it, but now it is completely dead. No light or any indication that there is any power getting to it. Now all we have is a very sad boy and one unhappy momma.

My son received this for Christmas, and on the 1st try it was very strong and scared all of us by attacking us...but on the 2nd try he got it up off the floor and it came back down quickly and broke the tail off. Very disapointed to have had this for only 2 days and now it is nothing but a piece of trash. Toys R Us should be ashamed for selling this poorly made product, it is utterly useless and a waste of your money. I will not be buying anything like this from them again. Save your money and buy something else.

This was a birthday present. Got it out of the box and thought it looked really good. I got it charged up and got it in the air with a little practice. Once in the air, it has almost no control. I have already broken one tail rotor on the second day of having it. I cannot find where to order more tail rotors, so when I break the second one that came with the aircraft I guess it will be trashed.

My son purchased this item from Toys R Us store in Colonie NY with his birthday money. Removed from pkg and the rear wheels immediately fell off. I put batteries in the controller and the door would not screw back in. After charging for the indicated 40 minutes, we turned it on and the lights for the heli came on which we thought was a good sign until we tried to actually fly the thing. At this point everything when dead and did not run again. I have a very disappointed kid who does not understand that this is basically a scam and Toys R Us should be ashamed that they put their name on this garbage.

It looks great! but sadly it is a terrible performer.

I had been looking for an indoor remote control Osprey for some time to add to my remote control hellicopter collection and was quite excited to find this one. I had read a couple of bad reviews but thought I would test it for myself as I am very patient with these things and know some of them just need a little time to learn how to trim and fly them. Unfortunately the poor performance of this model is linked to the design. So why is it so bad? There are several reasons, first it is 2 channel, it should fly forwards continually allowing one channel to control altitude and the second channel to control steering. After take off, the Osprey levels itself out, eliminating any forward movement after a few seconds. As for the steering, steering is 'controlled' by a small tail rotor which is supposed to push or pull the tail left or right, similar to a regular helicopter. The tail rotor is so close to the Osprey's center of gravity that it has a tendency to move it sideways rather than steer it. At best, I was able to take off (quickly or it turns over) and fly erratically around my large living room two or three times using the tail rotor to move it rather than steer it, before landing heavilly. Most flights were much shorter and a lot less controlled. Luckily it is reasonably strong although one of the flashing LED's failed while taxiing before the 2nd take off.

To sum up, the model looks really good and would make an attractive ornament. But when it comes to flight - it would make a good ornament! Save your money and use it on one of the many other options there are to choose from.

If you are new to this game, I would recommend looking for a 3 channel model(allowing forward and backward movement in addition to altitude and steering). Look for one that has counter rotating blades (looks like two rotor blades, one above the other), and make sure the model you choose has a 'gyro' to help with the stability.

I went through three of these before finding one that flew at all. First had a short in the controller/charger; fire hazard. Second had a stuttering right side motor & couldn't lift its own weight no matter how it was trimmed. Third flew, but it's not stable and it's very difficult to control. This from someone with years of experience with dozens of toy- and hobby-grade helis. Looks great but just didn't work out.
