[...]we had two Jeep jogging-style strollers and were skeptical to go away from that brand because it was great, but we wanted a true travel system this time around. Trade-offs are certainly that this is a true travel system so it's very secure to have the infant seat on the stroller, whereas Jeep simply accomodates an infant car seat but doesn't 'lock' a seat in the same way. The stroller was easy to put together. The base and seat seem snug and secure, and the latches for the base are the best we've experienced and we've had several car seats between the two kids we already have. Another great feature is that the adjustable handle bar accomodates a person of my size (5'3") as well as my husband (6'3")- it's the first stroller he's had that he feels took in to consideration a taller person, and it's very comfortable for both of us, especially for him without having to crouch or hunch his back. Wheels are easy to maneuver even though they are bigger than the Jeep (although Jeep's wheels also tackled any terrain with ease; don't think the size difference will matter much), and we like the safety features on the stroller itself such as the ample reflective material & safety strap to use while running, and extra locks for the infant seat. The mesh bottom basket is large enough to accomodate a lot of stuff, not just a diaper bag. The one-hand fold is truly one-hand... Jeep claims theirs is but then requires you still to bend down to manually latch the stroller secure, whereas this one does it for you & you can hear it snap securely.Comes up short with regard to: The canopy- it's open in the back, which isn't too horrible, but on a windy day I'd prefer a completely encased stroller to one that I will have to put a blanket or two over to keep wind or weather or sun out of... and same with the peek-a-boo window on the stroller- most are plastic to see the baby, this one is just mesh although it does have a flap that velcros. Also, the parent "tray" is not so much a tray as a very small cubby that won't fit much more than a small wallet, small set of keys, and maybe the iPod used for the speakers- Jeep's parent compartment was definitely bigger in this regard.Overall we're very excited about this purchase & cannot wait to use it when our baby is born. It's a bonus, too, that it's not all pastel colors like a lot of travel systems tend to be when looking for something to represent that you have a little girl.

I really wish I had known better before I picked this for my registry. First, what I like: (1) TONS of storage in the storage basket, (2) the compartment between the speakers is handy for keys & a cell phone on walks and (3)the canopy provides a lot of shade.

Unfortunately, there's so much more that I can't stand: (1) it's so bulky I don't even take it anywhere EXCEPT on walks from my front door. Even when folded up, it just barely fits in the trunk of my Camry, and when I've got the stroller in there, I can't fit anything else. (2) The carseat is VERY heavy. I figured all carseats were this heavy, but then I've tried a few others out to discover that others are lighter. The stroller is also heavy, and when you think about it being both bulky AND heavy, it makes me even less willing to bring it places. (And I'm no weakling.) I ended up buying a separate stroller just to be able to take on errands around town. (3) The peek-a-boo window through the canopy - I wish there were velcro on the canopy to hold it open so I'm not constantly opening & closing the flap to check on the baby. (4) It has terrible handling. I find it very difficult to get up & down off of curbs, even when the front wheel is locked. And, like other reviewers, my front wheel started wobbling after about a week of use. (5) The cupholders aren't deep enough. Every cup has bounced out of the holder, spilling water everywhere. And my aluminum water bottles don't fit. (6) The tires. I have never ONCE taken the stroller in anything even resembling 'off road' - just sidewalks, parking lots & the mall - but I get flats all the time, and I've had to go get bike tubes to replace them twice so far (and my baby isn't even 8 months old). And (7)This may be just because I'm 5'2" but the height of the carseat handle makes the carseat incredibly awkward for me to carry - it either bangs into my thighs if my arms are straight or I have to carry it with my arm bent and it's so heavy it bruises my wrist & arm.
I totally agree with the reviewer who said that she hates the stroller more and more every day. I cannot wait to trade this one. I really wish I had known better what to look for in registering for a travel system carseat & stroller...Keep looking!

We've had no issues with ours in 7 months. We've put air in the tires, but that's expected. The canopy does not provide much shade unless you are walking at noon. The wheel wobble issue is addressed in the manual. Took my husband 3 minutes to fix. We use it for daily walks. It is bulky and does not fit well in our trunks (Nissan Altima and Honda accord).

Comments about Baby Trend Expedition ELX Travel System Stroller - Windsor:

This travel system's pros definitely outweigh the cons! My daughter is very tall and was able to use the carrier/carseat until she was about 6 months old. It is slightly heavy, but nothing I couldn't handle. It was also very easy to move the base between cars to make switching cars a breeze. The stroller part we still use today (she is 16 months). The cupholders for her are great to fit her cups or just to put some cheerios in. The canopy does give off a lot of shade and she never seems to be uncomfortable riding in it. It is large, but still fits into the trunk of my Pontiac Grand Prix (although there is only a little bit of room left after that). The speakers are not very loud but they are perfect for a nice walk. The stroller does very well on uneven ground which is what we bought it for (fields, trails, etc) as well as using it for jogging. It definitely takes me two hands to open and close it, but it is not difficult once you do it a few times. Overall I love this whole set!

Comments about Baby Trend Expedition ELX Travel System Stroller - Windsor:

I thought when I bought it I would use it to go jogging, but my daughter did not like her car seat, so it made it difficult.

        Pros:
        • Great when on a dirt/rough area
        • Infant seat just places on stroller
        • As soon as she started sitting up we were able to use the toddler because it has a great safety harness; not just a seatbelt on waist.
Oh and has a great sun shade for infants, but not toddler.

        Cons:
        • MAJOR ANNOYING WHEN THE INFANT CAR SEAT STRAPS WOULD GET STUCK – this happened after a month or two after we bought it.
        • Very heavy- if your alone and have no free hands; not convenient
        • Bulky- I have a mini SUV and still took the entire back
        • Maneuvering in a store is difficult because it is so bulky and there is not a lot of room in most places for a stroller of this size.
        • Coffee spills even with lid because not deep enough and every bump- Let's face it we need all the caffeine
        • Speakers are very low volume and there is no volume settings
flap to see baby does not stay open

Lovely to look at, and it's great if you don't have to fold it up ever, or put it in a car.
Personally the car seat took off a nail painfully just trying to undo it, and get my baby out. The seat belt is ridiculous. The stroller is already falling apart where the car seat attaches to it. I would love to take it back but it was a gift.
On the plus side it maneuvers really well and does great on walks, just not good as an every day stroller going in and out of the car ...it's ridiculously made.

I really like this travel system it is not only stylish, but it's also very smooth. The stroller can go from dirt trails to the mall. I have had it for eight months and it is in great conditions. It is a little heavy, but most baby car seats and strollers are anyway. It's easy to open and close once you find where to open and close from. Great value for the product! I approve!

Comments about Baby Trend Expedition ELX Travel System Stroller - Windsor:

I am actually quite surprised by some of the mediocre reviews on this item. It's certaily not "top of the line" but for the price and how much you get for that price its a great product. I have been using mine for 5 months now and I have no complaints. Its exactly what I needed and expected. Yes its a bit bulky but all stollers of this type are. Its definitely a smooth ride for the little one. I use it for walking/jogging and for everyday use and we love it. Plus the convenience of the removable car seat is AMAZING. There are strollers out there that are made with a bit better material but they also cost A LOT more and this one is sturdy enough and works just like those others. There is plenty of space in the storage basket. It's easy to steer and the adjustable handle is nice as well and the MP3 speakers. We almost splurged and got a B.O.B stroller of similar style but then we got this as a gift and I am SOOOOOOOO thankful we didnt spend the extra money. So far, we love this stroller & car seat. The only "negative thing" I have to say about it is that you can't really fold it up one handed. It seems like you should be able to but it usually requires a second hand to actually initiate the folding process. Not a huge deal though. Overall, great value!

Got this stroller as a gift. I think it's overpriced for what it is. Fabric of the stroller is not what you pay for(quality of the stitches is poor for a 200+ dollar stroller). Tires deflate seriously all the time (I gave up trying to fix them). The Speakers don't work properly (Tried fixing it unsuccessfully). Wobbles when I walk at quick pace.

I really wanted a 3 wheel rather than a 4 wheel stroller because to me the 4 wheelers are to old school, but couldnt afford the other strollers so i settled for this one, after some reviews i was hesitant but got it anyway. Never had a problem with the front wheel as some reviews say, i love the ipod connecter i use it while walking to listen to music and make calls. It is very bulky stroller so only get it if you have much space in your car i have a van so it fits but takes all my trunk space. My biggest problem is the car seat and the straps that keep driving me crazy because they always turn inside out. Other than that great stroller for tall people my husband 6'2 does not look like a giant when using it.

I was given this product as a gift. This product looks very nice. The jogging stroller is very smooth and comfortable for baby. The stroller is very heavy and you need an SUV for it to fit in your vehicle. It's very hard to open and shut. The car seat is very awkward and very heavy. My baby is only 10 weeks old and I can barely carry it by myself into stores. The handle is hard to raise up and down. The clip for the carseat is hard to put together. I had a Graco travel system that was a lot cheaper for my first baby, and it was a million times better. I may purchase the stroller alone later on for running...but I'm returning the carseat today!
