The Summer Infant Prodigy™ Infant Car Seat Base in Grey addresses common issues associated with car seat installation in the vehicle and ease of installation. The one-of-a-kind SmartScreen Technology guides parents through the simple three-step process while the unique Belt Tightening System allows for an easy and secure installation every ride. Parents no longer need to climb into the car and struggle to install the base. Designed for use with the Prodigy™ Infant Car Seat and Prodigy™ Travel System (both sold separately), the Prodigy™ Base gives you the option fo buying additional bases for use in multiple cars. The Prodigy™ Base requires 3 AA batteries (included).

• Summer Infant Prodigy™ Infant Car Seat Base in Gray features our unique SmartScreen technology, which ensures proper installation of the car seat every ride.
• Our easy-to-use, precise Belt Tightening System firmly fastens the base to car and the SmartScreen technology lets you know when you've achieved the appropriate tension.
• The push on LATCH connectors have indicators that let you know when the base is securely connected to the vehicle.
• The Prodigy™ Base includes a 4-position adjustable foot that adjusts the recline angle to accomodate for the slope of your vehicle seat. The SmartScreen technology let's you know when you've achieved the appropriate angle, further taking the guesswork out of the installation.
• Convenient built-in storage compartment for instruction booket. Base is compatible with all Prodigy™ Infant Car Seats, LATCH systems and most seatbelt systems.

We received the car seat as a gift within the past few months, my son just made a month. We love the digital features of the base, although the clips that hold the seat, made it difficult for me to get my son in and out. Unfortunately within the month the tightening handle broke in half and now we will have to go the next week or two without the base and will have to pay the shipping to have it replaced. Money down the drain for their misstakes.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
