I purchased this stroller for my 2 year old while I was pregnant with #3. I previously purchased a pliko p3 in 2007 for my first daughter. I LOVED IT!! I used it through 2011 until my husband ruined the fabric seat by washing it wrong. My 2007 p3 was awesome. It was really well made, turned on a dime, had pretty great storage, was super sturdy, the fabric was of great quality, and what I loved most was the giant canopy.
Anyhow, I thought it was a no brainer to just replace it with a new model. Well I was wrong, which left me very disappointed with my purchase. THE QUALITY IS JUST NOT WHAT IT WAS IN 2007.
Let's start with the frame. It feels really flimsy. The adjustable handles are always jamming and when they are extended, they are shaky. My 2007 p3 felt solid. The pliko p3 compacto does not... it shimmies and shakes as I push it. The fabric quality is different too. Most of all the hood though still large, feels flimsy, and the fabric is not nearly as heavy as what they used to use. You can definitely see the impact the recession has had on peg perego products. The basket underneath is made from thin, nylon, it ripped with in the first week of having it.
Also I should mention, the first compacto they sent out was defective... the plastic on the arm of the seat was attached wrong prevented me from even opening the frame. They replaced it right away, but it just added to my disappointment of a brand that used to be my favorite.

I am going to be buying a britax b-ready to replace my peg. It has received great reviews for how well made and sturdy it feels.

I say save your $$. Peg perego is just not what it used to be. If you like Italian strollers, just go with a Chicco, huge price difference and the chicco in many ways is just as good, if not better.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Not worth the money

I have borrowed this stroller two times from a friend while visiting them out of state. I have the Chicco and this one is more expensive and not nearly as good. First, you can't steer with one hand with a child in it due to the two handle bars. Second, the storage basket is so small and impossible to access from the back. You have to access it from the sides. There is no cup holders for the parents included either, and the cup holder for the child is too small for many standard sippy cups. One good thing I can say is that the seat must have been comfortable because my toddler slept in it often. I couldn't wait to get back to my Chicco!

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
