I didn't have any problems with assembly as some others have stated, but from the first time we used it the music sounded out of tune and was dropping notes. This was not an inexpenisve mobile so needless to say, I was disappointed. The music also doesn't last very long, as it is a wind-up (something I didn't realize before I purchased, my own fault). I will say it is nice looking and my 5 mo. old daughter does love it... the poor music quality just bothers me.
Oh- I almost forgot- it also comes with huge tags on each individual butterfly that you have to cut off while being careful not to cut the butterfly. Why do they do that?
If I were to do it again I would look for something different and make sure that it wasn't a wind-up.

I love the colors of this mobile, and the butterflies themselves are very pretty. However, there are a couple of flaws in the way the mobile is designed.

First of all, instead of the butterflies flying with their "belly" parallel to the ground, they are upright. Because of that, all a baby sees when laying under the mobile is the very thin bottom edge of the butterflies - they can't see any of the pretty design on the body of the butterflies themselves.

Also, the arm that extends the mobile out over the crib needs to extend it about an inch further. When the mobile rotates, the butterflies sometimes get stuck against the poll and stop rotating. My daughter (4 months) would be so excited to see them move, and then she would get frustrated and cry when they got stuck. My husband and I would turn on the mobile for her while we were getting ready in the morning, but we found ourselves constantly running back and forth to get the butterflies unstuck.

Finally we jerry-rigged them to try to resolve the issues. We ran some thread through the bottom of the butterflies and then through the purple fabric that covers the arms of the mobile so that the butterflies are flying with their bellies parallel to the ground, and we also ran thread throught he arm covers in a way that pulls all of the butterflies closer in to the center of the mobile. It's still not a perfect solution and they still get stuck sometimes, but it is much better overall. I just wish the designer had made these simple changes so that the fixes were unnecessary, because they detract from the overall beauty of the mobile.

LOVE this mobile! I bought two of them and my girls adored them! The music was a plus, we bought them to go with our purple butterfly theme but the babies really enjoyed staring up and reaching for the butterflies as the music played and they went round & round! Work great, only took them down because the girls are a year old and they started pulling the butterflies off the mobile to play with them!

My daughter loves it, when she was really little I just used it as a decoration until she use to cry at nap time now I put it on and she will go to sleep! To me it was easy to put together, and it is very sturdy in my opinion my daughter is 10mons now and still uses it and she sometimes pulls on it when she wakes up and it has never fell off!

My daughter really likes her mobile. It's very pretty. The biggest issues I had were assembly: the directions weren't great and the music box didn't work, but I took it apart and fixed it-the dial was loose. It also doesn't play for a long time, but all mobiles might be like that, I don't know.

I received this as a baby shower gift in July, my daughter was born Aug 1st. We had had no problems with it until yesterday. I layed my daughter in her crib and jumped in the shower, she was asleep and all of a sudden I heard her screaming. I ran to her crib to find that the Mobil had somehow broken and fell right on top of her! Thank god I got there on time to take it off of her before she got tangled or something. Shes only four months old so there's no way she could've gotten a hold of it to break it
