Read a review of someone panning this item who bought it for a three year old. I've never seen it recommended for three year olds. One box says specifically not for 1-3, others say 4+, but I did see one with a hazzard sign for kids under three, so that can be misleading. Most Playmobile is best for four and above. The little tiny pieces can be a hassle but older kids often love these details. Due to the expense of the toy, I'd give Playmobile to 5+ unless it is a simple unit like the sea plane or the child is unusually careful. I have four grandchildren in one family who share the zoo, hospital, police and fire stations, vet clinic, various vehicles sets and more. They all still play with these items, even the 12 year old. I have a super detail oriented grandson in another family to whom I gave the big pirate ship on his 4th birthday. He guards it and treasures every piece of it, but that is unusual at his age. It also helps if there is more than one child at the age to play with these toys so factor that into your investment decision. My favorite thing is to give one of the big sets to a child of five and above at Christmas. It is fun to watch a parent spend an hour in assembly on the floor. They have such fun putting all the parts together even as they moan and groan. I think it is one of the high points of their Christmas as witnessed by the argument over who gets to assemble what. They all want the biggest challenge with the most pieces. I also like to include a decorative box container as part of the gift so the smaller pieces can be stored easily. Playmobile is a treasure ...but not for everyone.

This durable, German-made toy is perfect. It's tight and put together right. My eight and four year-old played for hours and the novelty won't wear off like many other toys. They like camping so I knew the kids would like to pretend. It's the kind of toy I really liked so I got to join in :) There isn't a playmobil toy I've disliked.

My son loves the realistic details like how the beds are convertible, the shade slides in and out and all the pieces have a place to be stored for "travel". I love that it is sturdy and well made.

I've read the other reviews. My daughter loves just about all the Playmobil stuff. She is 2 1/2 and I put the tiny pieces away. Unless you are a beast there shouldn't be a problem getting your hands in the vehicle. Combined with all the other sets and single figures we easily have a family for the camper. I looked at the family camper but this was much less and just as cool. There are modifications on the newer more expensive one but I doubt it's any more fun. I have the luxury of being able to take the time to play with or assist my daughter and I can see her motor skills advancing. If you like to put toys together and detailed fun then this is another great addition to a Playmobil collection.

I put this item on my daughter's b-day wish list because of all the 5 star ratings & great things everyone had to say about it. I cannot understand why anyone would rate this 5 stars!? It's incredibly flimsy, hard to put together with unclear instructions. It has teeny tiny pieces in it (the silverware, cups, and plates) that I will not give to my 3 year old, even though it is rated safe for 3 year old's. It has random pieces that just loosely sit on the top of the camper that don't click in. The canopy does not easily slide in & out, I anticipate it will break very soon. It is so small & compact that anyone with hands larger than a 3 year old's will have a hard time getting their fingers in there to do anything. It's cute, but poorly designed. I don't recommend.

This is a wonderful camper- the details are fantastic- my kids (ages 3 & 5) love the indoor toilet & shower. They pretend to make food on the stove in the kitchen. Downside is camper only has 2 people, but we have kids from another, smaller set, so now we have a whole family of 4, plus their dog (who sleeps in its own room). The kids fit in the bed better than the grown-ups. Very sturdy. Hardly any assembly for a Playmobil item. Some small pieces (cups, plates & utensils). We store the small pieces in the roof storage unit instead of under the mattresses. Tons of imaginary play with this one- the camper drives around the house visiting new vacation locations!

My son loves this camper. The only thing is for a 4 year old it is hard to keep track of all the small pieces. But otherwise it is great for pretend play!

Gave one to each of my 4 yr old twin grandsons. They absolutely loved them.
What is great, they could use their imagination. They loved setting the table, cooking in the kitchen area with the pans, and just loved putting the people figures on the bicycle, chairs
etc.
We really wished it had an outside gas grill with it so they could cook outside by the table. (or charcoal one)

This product was a gift for my 4 y/o daughter. She has a brother who is 6. Together, I am not kidding, they have played with this camper for hours on end. They have other playmobile toys that they play with along with with this RV to make it even more fun. Howver, even by itself, it is very enjoyable for them to play with together or individually. You can see what the camper comes with and how the lid comes off so that you can place the playmobile people inside and pretend like they are going on a trip. The tires are real rubber and there are lots of little compartments to put different things into. The playmobile people can actually sit at the wheel and steer the camper. Their hands clip on to the steering wheel. LOVE this toy!
Only down fall for some people may be that it comes with some small pieces. Like, forks, knives, spoons, plates and mugs. There is even a small compartment under the bed "sheets" to store these items. They can become lost VERY easily tho so you HAVE to keep track of them. You could probably even take these away until they are a bit older if you are nervous about it and still allow your child to have tons of fun with the camper and larger pieces. Also, you have to assemble this toy at home yourself a little bit. The body is all set but you have to attach the wheels, and several other things before she is ready to go on the open road. It is pretty easy tho, all you have to do is follow the step by step instructions. Lots of hours of imaginary play. Get the kids back to using their imaginations without letting a video games do all the work. Would highly recommend!

This is the coolest toy I ever purchased. My daughter (age 3) loves it. Since the day she opened it she has played with it everyday. I also got the fully loaded house for her BDAY (next month). I can't wait to play with it with her. I will be purchasing more of these sets. So many neat things on the camper. I look forward to buying more for Christmas.
