We initially bought my nine year old daughter a 24 inch bike, but it was so large for her that she couldn't even get on the bike. This bike, however, is the perfect height for a petite girl. It also has plenty of room to grow as well which thrills me. The price was great too compared to what I saw out there. I liked that there weren't super girly designs on the bike either--who cares if the bike can grow with your child if it has ponies and rainbows and she's 12. It has some gears to shift which is great for her to learn with and the rest seems pretty standard. I'm thrilled with our purchase, I only wish I could've bought it in store and saved the cost of shipping!

Bought this for my petite 9yr. old daughter. Fits her to a T. It is a little smaller than most 20 inch mountain bikes that we looked at. So simple to put together. One thing was that the front brakes were not working well. But my neighbor adjusted them and now they are fine.

We bought this bike for our turning 9 yr. old daughter who is short for her age and has shorter legs. She is athletic and wanted to bike as fast as friends. The bike is PERFECT! the clearance from seat to handlebars is just right for 9 yr.old and the smooth shifting make the experience really fun for her. The handbrakes are adjustable and she can easily use them to stop. Some reviews were negative about weight, but the bike is a normal if not lighter than many 20" bikes. Very easy to assemble at home by a mom! She is riding everywhere. Wish it had been sold in stores.

The bike arrived in good condition however the construction is inferior quality. The instruction booklet did not match this bike and the front brake assembly was defective so it could not be assembled. The gears were very stiff and would have been impossible for our granddaughter to use. We [...] returned the bike [...] and will shop at a local bike store to insure quality [...].

We originally bought the Mongoose Enix for our daughters Christmas gift only to find it was way too long of a frame for her and she could not ride it. [...] I was able to put it together myself (never, ever done that before!) and she rode it within an hour. She absolutely LOVES it, its great for her petite body, has the gears she wants and is a deep purple (photo shows it much lighter than it really is) The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the weight, it weighs as much as my adult bike but she doesn't seem to mind and is zipping around the block as I write this. I'm still in shock it came so quickly and thrilled she didn't have to wait so long for her Christmas gift!! TRU rocks on this one. Now the other girls in the neighborhood want "gears" on their bikes like Emily!!
