I have had trouble breastfeeding from the beginning, so I have to supplement with formula. I tried Enfamil newborn and Similac sensitive. It worked for a few days and than by baby would get super gassy and fussy. My pediatrician recommended Gerber gentle and I am so glad he did! My baby loves it and it doesn't foam when I make it, like the Similac did. My baby is now sleeping through the night and mommy is very happy :)

Tried Similac Sensitive for almost a month, but my daughter had terrible gas all day...lots of screaming. We switched to Gerber Good Start Gentle and she was immediately a different, happier baby. She still has occassional gas pains but nothing like she did on the other formula. Also, I have found that this formula produces army green poop and from what I've read it is normal!Wish it came in ready to feed quarts like the other major brands...powder is messy!

I started using Good Start based on a recommendation from my sister who tried every formula with her son and ended up using Gerber Good Start. I have a very gassy son and he would scream and cry with feedings. When we were transitioning from Breast Milk to formula I started by mixing half breast milk with half formula to get him used to it. We made the transition to 1/2 and 1/2 right when a babies digestive system is forming so it took him a bit longer to adjust. Now he is fine and he loves the taste. It mixes great as well, we don't have any clumps! If we shake the bottle to mix it I usually let it sit for about 10-15 minutes before feeding him to get all the air bubbles out. He is still gassy but as he grows his stomach is getting better and better.

We were using Enfamil NB and my son started to have bowel issues and tummy issues after a month. My dr. suggested trying Gentle ease which worked for a few weeks and then we were back to the same old screaming and crying, which was so hard for me to handle. As a new mom I never expected formula to be such an issue or to have to my wonderful new little baby so upset. I called my dr. over and over again and he had mentioned drops and chamomile tea, and then another pediatrician from that office recommended this product. In 3 days he was a normal baby again. I couldn't believe it. I have never had a problem with Gerber Good Start Gentle. I plan on moving his to stage 2 once he hits 9 months (it is slightly cheaper and will help transition to regular milk). If your baby is experiencing tummy trauma I suggest you try this. You will be glad that you did.

Love this formula. I had my son on the Gentlease but it didn't do much for him, he was still very constipated. Now he is happy and regular, without any prune juice or gripe water. He doesn't seem to gulp when he drinks his bottle either.

Our little one loves Good Start. We tried all the other formulas on the market and they were not happy in the tummy.

Good start works for us and that's why we buy it. But one thing we do not like is that GERBER has made the package smaller (from 25 ounces to 23 ounces) and raised the prices on all their products. NOT a GOOD move by GERBER.

I started my baby off with similac. His little stomach did not take to it, talk about constipation!! Then switch to sensitive similac and that didn't work either!! So I switch him to geber and the very next day he had NOOOO problems going pottie!! If I have an other baby I would totally use Gerber again!!!!!

This is the best formula! My twin boys love it! They have no problems with gas, and they started sleeping through the night by 12 weeks. I've tried Enfamil, and it gave them horrible gas! I also like Similac, but I like that Gerber Good Start has partially broken down protein. And the price is very reasonable.

This formula is wonderful. Its easy to digest and doesn't give alot of gas. My son was a small baby and had alot of gas and fussiness while he was on Enfamile. I tried Enfamile Sensitive but that didn't help. I even resorted to Gripe water and no help. Finally I tried Gerber GoodStart and from the first feeding he was like a completely different baby. No fussiness, drastically less gas and slept like a baby should. I am now expecting my second child and will definatly be using this formula again.

I tried this formula with my daugther after she was originally diagnosed as being allergic to cow's milk proteins (and having acid reflux) while on Enfamil around 6 weeks old. Her doctor switched her to Nutramigen, which stopped the projectile vomitting and constipation. Unfortunately, Nutramigen made her smell like a goat. It also gave her horrible diaper rash and she still seemed miserable and was not a happy baby (still screaming as if she was in pain while trying to eat). After doing a little research on my own, I read about Good Start Gentle. I had doubts as to her being "allergic" to cow's milk, as she was on Enfamil's preemie formula for the first month of her life and did fine until switched to the "regular" version. Anyways, she's been on Good Start Gentle for over a month and doing GREAT! She's a good eater, a happy baby, with no tummy troubles. Her gas STINKS on this formula, but it's better than her constantly smelling like a goat. I believe the composition of this formula (being whey protein based instead of SUGAR based) is definately more gentle and natural (aside from breast-feeding obviously). Added bonus, it's much cheaper and more easily available than Nutramigen.
