Tried these out a couple times and unfortunately they just didn't work for me. I do like that it comes with two but what's the point of having two if they just don't work. They were difficult for my baby to latch and painful for my nipples the vents served no purpose just made it worst. I would suggest one could try it out if others shields aren't working but not great for women with inverted nipples

I love everything else that I have bought from this line, but these shields are the worst ever. The way the cut-outs are positioned, they seem to cut the tender tissues of my already sore nipples.I thought these would foster more contact with my little one's mouth, but alas, stick with Avent shields that are shaped like a rectangle, which let baby's chin and nose nuzzle nicely.

A good friend of mine told me she would not of been able to breast feed if it was not for these. I tried them and my baby just did not seem to latch and I have not even touched them since.

Using these is the reason I was able to continue breast feeding. I was in alot of pain and bleeding after just one week of breast feeding. My daughter would not get a good latch and it was quite a struggle with her so I'd end up just letting her feed with a bad latch. I learned quickly that was bad. So I bought these because of the shape and price. They worked wonders. They helped my daughter to latch properly and I healed up in two days. I only used them when I was feeling sensitive or in pain without them.

I wish I hadn't wasted my money on these. I bought them because I wanted to replace my Medela shield that was getting worn out. My baby hated these and wouldn't nurse with it. I had to use the Medela one a little longer. It was also very painful the few suckles she took.

I bought these shields to use with my 2nd after using the Medela shields with my 1st. From the beginning of using these, I was always in EXTREME pain, to the point that I was going to give up breastfeeding all together (nursed my 1st 13 1/2 months).. After talking to a lactation specialist at my sons pediatricians office, she explained why the Tommee Tippee shields are so bad. The "side" vents (holes), cause the baby to lose suctioning power and make them have to work so much harder, therefore causing the pain. I switched back to the Medela sheilds, and haven't had pain since!

Tried everything to get my son to latch on then discovered nipple shields. Bought these and was very disappointed. Followed the instructions and they didn't attatch and they didnt help with the soreness when trying to attempt a feeding. Ultimately I gave up.

My baby was born premature and spent a week feeding from bottles in the NICU. We had difficulty switching to the breast, especially since my nipples were relatively soft and there wasn't much for baby to grab on to. These worked awesome! The medela ones were too big, I couldn't get my nipple in far enough that baby could latch properly without choking. When fitted on correctly (by flipping it almost inside out and popping it on), there is much less nipple pain. I find they grip onto the breast better when they're super clean (not just sanitized), but sometimes it does flip towards baby's face.

When I opened the products, I was excited to use them until I did; THESE WERE SOOO PAINFUL TO USE!!!!!! My daughter had no trouble latching, she was just a nipple chomper, she didnt take to the medela sheild at first but now she has no problem. She took to the tommee tippee sheilds right away but it felt like it was too small for my nipple it was sqeezing it too much, more pain than not using it at all! Also, the outer part still went over her nostrils so she seemed a bit uncomfortable. As most everyone else has said, the case is AWESOME! I do love it (the case), so I basically just paid [$] for a great case. Since I got my medela sheild free at the hospital, I lucked out! But just remember that sheilds can be as unpredictable as pacifiers! You and or your baby may not like every kind. Good luck!

I almost never rate items as 1-star, but I have to say I was displeased with the product. I bought this product to use for the duration of my child's feedings since I have flat nipples and have not yet been able to encourage my child to feed without a shield (she was several weeks premature and about 2 weeks old when I first attempted to use these shields and is now 6 weeks old).

I thought it was nice that the product came with a sterilization case and that there were two for a good price, but these did not work for me. So far I have only used the Medela and the Medela contact shield to compare it to, both of which I find preferable at this time. The Tommee Tippee shields will not stay on my skin AT ALL. When nursing they always flip up into my child's face no matter how close are far she is to my skin. I also seem to experience a good deal of pain when using these, so much that I almost don't want to feed my child. Also, the holes in the nipple seem to have a bit too much flow for my newborn at this point. She often drinks too fast and finds herself coughing and sputtering throughout the feeding, thought this is not completely the product's fault.

I wonder if my child were older and I had larger breasts (for the shield to hold onto) if the product would be more effective and less painful..? It might not hurt to try these again when my child is a more patient eater, but then again it very well could hurt.
