We purchased this from someone as a hand me down from someone who used it regularly with their child. It works perfect.. have had no problems with it and it is so easy for our daughter to maneuver through tight spaces in the house! She loves it :) Cant wait to remove the seat and use it as a walk behind walker!!

THis was a great purchase. It was reasonably priced and easy to assemble. The toy is removable so you can use the walker with just the try. It also has a recessed 'cup holder' which we put Cheerios in. The pads easily come off for washing and so do the wheels. My son was a little short when we first got this, so we just left the wheels off and put some foam squares under him. He loved it from day 1. He spends hours in this zooming through the house. He also snacks in it and makes a mess which is easily cleaned up. The chair padding comes off easy and goes right in the washer.
This easily fold down and fits in the trunk of the car to take with us to the park ( where he can't move, but enjoys sitting in it) or to Grandma's house.

we haven't used it as a push walker yet, but will when needed.
The only down fall is that the height is not adjustable.

I loved this item from the moment my baby got this at 4 months old, Very nice, You can remove the toy so it is suitable for eating off of. And my son just loved chasing our chihuahua around the house in it.

Today was different for my 10 Month year old son.
he was sitting in the kitchen with us as daddy did the dishes and I was cooking. My son was eating Cheerios off of it, when suddenly he started crying. we looked behind us and our son was covered in blood. He stuck his finger in the hole the toy fits in, it sliced his index finger pretty deep.

The merchandise was broken and it was a real pain to return the merchandise. Despite my request to replace the item, the merchandise never made it to me instead I got a return.Calling customer service was a nightmare. I got three associates who were ignorant and incapable of doing their job. Horrible experience. Never purchasing online from Toys R Us.

I received the Kolcraft Step Starter as a shower gift and it is very cheaply made. The wheels do not go in the plastic holders, therefore it is unable to roll! Although my baby loves the music and attachments on it.

I bought this walker because it had the ability to be used 2 different ways. The little activity center is nice because it has lights and sounds and keeps baby interested when they are sitting in it. Once they try to start actually using it as a walker it performs poorly. The back (fixed) wheel popped out after about 2 weeks of use and I had to keep putting it back into place any time my daughter used it. It also made it difficult for her to walk or push it because the wheel kept popping out. The front wheels move around for turning and they worked well. The construction just isn't very strong.
If you intend to actually use this as a walker I recommend getting something with sturdier wheels. If you just want to put baby in it to sit it works well.

I bought this walker when my daughter was 6 months old. Seeing that she was comfortable in the walker and it seemed very stable plus it sang... Once she started trying to walk, we soon noticed that the back wheels were cheaply made! The medal bar that goes through the wheel does not completely connect to where it is supposed to. She is now 14 months, even though she is too tall for it, She still had to LITERALLY lift the walker just to go where she wanted. The whole time we had the walker she struggled.. It didn't help her walk but to stand better. Now with my son I will buy a cheaper better made walker. SAVE YOUR MONEY and check the wheels.

I read all the reviews and was a little skeptical ordering it. I went ahead and ordered it because I liked the looks of it and the fact that it's a 2 in 1 which can be used by my son to hold and walk as he get older. I've had the walker for a month now. My 6 month old loves the music on the discovery center. It's light weight making easy for him to manouver. The seat cushin is very good, coloring is nice and mild, quality is not excellent but does the job. I like it for the price paid in comparison to other more expensive products I looked at. I recommend it for hardwood floors (wood/stone) only.

After purchasing walkers for my older 3 children, I knew just what I wanted for my 4th- and this is it! Despite mixed reviews I decided to purchase it, and I'm glad I did! My youngest is 12 weeks & 23"- she can touch the floor with the balls of her feet and continually activates the lights & sounds on the activity bar by herself.It was easy to put together and very convieniently folds down so it can be put out of the way! I have had no problems with its construction- it is well made. It holds my daughters attention for 20+ minutes so I like to put her in it while cooking dinner or so that I can take a shower, and she will bat at the toys and coo the whole time! I am a HUGE fan of walkers as it makes SO much more sense to buy one of these (rather than a bouncer or rocker) so the baby can learn walking motions! I chose this one because of the 2-in-1 feature, this will save another purchase down the road! In all- highly recommended!!!

We bought this item and it was a total disaster. The two back wheels that came in the box with the other parts were used! They were dirty and worn down. We called Kolcraft and had them ship new back wheels. All the arts seem to be cheaply made and my so doesn't move around as much as when he's in his older walker at his mom-mom's house. Hmmm, how does a set of wheel part that are worn, used and dirt get back into a sealed new box? I'm very disappointed in BRU and Kolcraft.
