    The switch is all the way to the end of the plug, and of course I have the lamp on display on top of a dresser. so poorly designed, where i have to keep reaching behind to the very end to turn it on and off. ridiculous if u ask me. it's a beautiful lamp though. but doesn't seem too practical to me. most of the DISNEY Lion King pieces i've bought for my son, and i have the entire collection, have had some kind of design flaw that was too easily overlooked.

      Love the look the lamp has. It fits the theme of the room. This lamp now sits in our room on a two drawer nightstand because of one MAJOR issue! There's no on/off switch on the lamp. The switch is one of those scroll ones located near the actual plug. So, imagine the lamp sitting on a 34" high dresser and the outlet is behind the dresser. You have to reach ALL THE WAY down towards the plug just to turn the lamp on and off if you don't have this connected to an outlet that has a switch on the wall. The lamp just doesn't work for us in the babies bedroom so we switched it out with our lamp. That's too bad!

      I would give this product a higher rating if it only had a traditional on/off switch. The switch is a toggle switch on the cord- which is a pain to find in the middle of the night when you need some light. That is the only change I would make to this lamp, and in my opinion, it's a desperately needed change. It makes the Lion King nursery set well, and it's very cute. It holds energy-effecient bulbs, and it gives off the right amount of light.

        It's really super cute, but the lamp shade is unraveling (right out of the box). Plus the people at the toy r us store pick up lost my order (waited 40 min). The worst thing is how low the switch is it actually makes it difficult to use and much closer to a childs height than adults.

        I love this lamp. The set up was a tad bit confusing thanks to vague instructions, but it looks great! The knob to turn it on is oddly low on the cord, which makes it difficult to turn it on. I have it on the dresser, though, so it may be easier if it is on a different piece of furnitue.
