I've read the review complaining about length, manueverability, and folding. All I can say is they must not have had any experience with the other strollers out there in the SAME PRICE BRACKET. I've used several other brands and this stroller outperforms them BY FAR!
Yes, it is long but can turn on a dime with minimal effort so the length does not cause a problem. I took this out to an extremely crowded outlet mall right before Christmas and had NO problems manuevering it through the crowds and narrow isles.
It was extremely easy to put together. There were just a few peices that easily fit together and my husband was able to put it together in just a few minutes without instructions.
It is very easy to fold (make sure to read the instruction on the proper steps to fold. I tried to do it on my own and I thought it was nearly impossible until I read the instructions and learned the secret). If you want a maximum fold, yes you have to remove one seat. But the seat remove at the push of a button and are extremely easy. I have folded other double strollers that don't have to have a seat removed and they may have a little more compact shape when folded but are much heavier to lift in one peice and are much more square and difficult to manuever into small trunks. The Contours is easy to lift and easier to manuever into tight spaces as you can put the seat wherever there is extra room. I drive a compact hatchback and it fits in the trunk fine with the extra peices plus diaper bag and groceries.
I have a 23 month old and a 3 month old. I love the universal carseat adapter (which folds up as well for easy storage) and my 2 year old fits just fine in the seat. Can he fully stretch his legs out?? No. Thank goodness!! In my single stroller where he CAN stretch out he is always searching for better footing or kicking his foot out to hit things in tight isleways. In these seats he stays in his seat and doesn't squirm around. And he still has plenty of head and bum room to grow.
I have been using this stroller almost daily for 4 months now and don't see any signs of wear as of yet.
Downfalls?
When folded, it is a little longer than other strollers because of the handle. In my compact trunk it has to be put in on the diagonal but in my husbands small Crossover (Hyundai Tuscon) it fits just fine lengthwise.
The cupholders are a bit flimsy. They're fine with something in them but they knock off easy when they are empty and hit against anything. I usually throw them in the storage basket.

I picked this stroller out in the store because I liked how the seats switched around and the convience of the infant carriers. I am the mother of twin girls so anything convienent is a must! I have to say at first this stroller was nice but then the handlebar fell off and then the wheels started falling off and it started to get wobbly. Having the two infant carriers was extremely convienent when lugging two infants around but now that they aren't in infant car seats just to get the stroller assembled and then them in it takes at least 5-8 minutes. I hate this stroller for not being able to fold up with the actual seats in it. I have a brand new town & country and it would not fit in the back with the seats folded up in it. It is a very cheap product and if you want something that is going to last I suggest spending the extra $$. I sold this stroller online and bought the Britax B-Agile which is the Best stroller ever!

Comments about Contours Optima Tandem Stroller - Berkeley:

After trying a few tandem strollers, found this one on clearance and took a chance on it. Put it together and tried it out. Very easy to change around and comfortable for the babies. Both fell asleep quickly and slept well. Easy to maneuver with arthritis in my hands and even great to use as a single stroller with lots of storage room. Everything I was looking for.

Comments about Contours Optima Tandem Stroller - Berkeley:

I have several double strollers, all being side by side. The baby started pulling the toddler's hair, ears, shirt, etc. To save a little amount of sanity I was on the search for a tandem stroller. I first attempted to save money and got another much cheaper brand. Terrible idea! That stroller went back. Kudos to Babies R Us for their excellent return policy! I obsessed over reviews and youtube videos and came to the conclusion this stroller would best meet our needs. It exceeded my expectations and is amazing! I drive a Nissan Armada and it fits in the trunk area even with the 3rd row seat up. Taking the seats off and putting them on is easy. The babies are comfortable and the basket has lots of space for diaper bags, toys, and mommy's shopping bags. The stroller pushes quite easily and turns with ease(compared to other double strollers). I would buy this stroller again and again and wish I had purchased this a year ago when the baby was born. I expect it will last us a long time as the quality is outstanding. The only negative I have is it's not as easy to get out of the car and store away like our Combi Twin Sport but that's the only thing I would change. This has become the stroller I use the most as it gives the most room while we are out and about. People will stop you and ask you all about it so get ready for the extra attention!

Comments about Contours Optima Tandem Stroller - Berkeley:

My wife and I have 3 boys, ages 3, 17 months and 5 months old. We use the stroller for the two younger ones when shopping or when embarking on leisurely excursions. The stroller has proven to be very reliable. I like the fact that you can configure it differently quite easily depending on your preference. It is quite nimble and it can turn on a dime. I thought it would be difficult to store it in the back of our minivan but thankfully I was mistaken. The weight wasn't an issue. Surprisingly it was lighter than we expected. It breaks down quickly and readily which is a blessing in the cold. The only thing I would change about the stroller is the braking system, currently the brakes are independent but I think it would be easier for parents to have a one step brake that controls braking for both wheels.

I bought this double stroller for my 2 year old and 2 month old. I have used it a couple times so far. As the other reviews have said it is quite big when fully assembled, but it is meant to hold to children. It was super easy to put together. The folding and unfolding mechanism is easy. Plenty of room in blasket for a diaper bag and purse. I like the fact that both seats can face forward or backward. It is not as compact as I would like when folded. I have a tahoe and it takes up a lot of room. I didn't find it overly heavy. Overall pretty good stroller withour spending $600-700.

We returned the stroller because although it is very versatile, it is also very heavy and difficult to collapse.

Was not happy to have to contact a separate party and jump several hoops (via snail mail) to cancel the 15-month Replacement Plan.

Comments about Contours Optima Tandem Stroller - Berkeley:

I love this stroller! When we knew we were going to have a need for a double stroller I did A LOT of hands on research and bugged everyone who passed me with a double stroller and asked how they liked it. This stroller was by far the easiest to maneuver and I love how it breaks down to fit in smaller cars. We first had a jetta when our third baby was born and there was not much room in the car as you can imagine and this broke down so that it all fit in the trunk and now fits in the back of our minivan with room for other items as well. Its super easy to put together and turns on a dime. I can even manuver the now 4 year old and 16 month old with one hand. We have baby number four on the way and the two little ones will be a breeze to push in this and its held up the last year and a half we have used it so I don't have to get another one for the new baby. My four year old still loves to sit in it although he doesn't fit nearly as well as the younger sizes do but thats to be expected. If I had to nit pick something it does get annoying when you close it and the wheels turn on you so you have to reopen and close it again or bend down and fix the wheel so that you can latch it. It is a bit heavy but I still can lift it in the car. Overall best stroller I've ever owned (my oldest is 12 so there has been a few) and holds up well so it should be the last stroller we ever need.

I purchased this stroller back in 2009 when I had my second child and loved this stroller when it was new. Although, it still works good I do know that most strollers after they are used constantly then tend to sqweak. I love the configurations when the kids are older but hate how heavy this stroller is and how much work you need to do once you want to use it or store it away. I just recently purchased the Baby Jogger City Mini GT & love it! Way more expensive but turns on a dime and has thee best turning capabilities.

This stroller has all the seating options I could ask for. Originally bought the chico double but returned it for this one. Sure its a little bulky when folded but all double strollers are. Folding it is easy and for being a double I think it steers very easily. I love that I can fit my gigantic diaper bag in the storage basket when I couldnt even manage to do that in my single full size stroller. Love my cupholders and extra space for keys, phone, or whatever. Seats are so comfortable with the easiest adjustment for straps. I couldnt be happier with this stroller. Ive done a lot of research and for someone that has a newborn and 18 month old this is the best stroller.
