Comments about Power A Mini Elite Transporter Case for Nintendo 3DS - Black:

I'm the type of person who loves to wear cargo pants/shorts for the extra pockets. I'm often carrying around my Zune media player and my encased Nintendo DS (and now Nintendo 3DS). And with the social and sharing features of the Nintendo 3DS, carrying it around is often ideal.

While the case can be bulky (7.5 inches tall, 4.75 inches wide, 3 inches thick, with system and games), it fits adequately into my extra pockets. The top of the case slightly peeks over the top of my pocket, but it isn't something that bothers me. The case will also fit nicely into most bags without taking up too much room. Might not work as well in a woman's purse or bag that isn't large, though. Of course, if you don't have such pockets nor carry around a bag, then you'll be carrying around this case in your hands. There is no belt loop or clip. There is a small handle on the top of the case.

A small flap on the case's front held by velcro covers the zipped-up system compartment and a small pocket. The small pocket is useful for holding the AR cards. I also inserted the conveniently small Pokemon type chart that I believe came with the FireRed/LeafGreen guide.

The case can hold a DS Lite, DSi, and the 3DS within the system compartment in the front. The original DS can fit, but not in the actual pocket. The DSi XL will unlikely fit. The system fits snuggly into the soft pocket and is held into place with an elastic strip with velcro. There is enough room for small accessories. Some images show the car charger fitting into this case. It can technically fit, but it'll be tight. The wall charger can also fit into this case. Keep in mind that it will be a tight fit and the chargers will press against the system. Fortunately, the soft material that holds the DS system provides adequate cushioning. This will certainly add to the case's thickness and gets a little tighter when placed in my pants' large pockets. What's also nice is that if I leave the flap un-velcroed, I can easily pull the system out from the case while it's in my pocket.

Within the system compartment are six elastic holders for extra stylus pens. Two of them are slightly larger than the other three.

The game compartment in the back of the case can natively hold 12 game cartridges or SD cards. You can throw more games into the game compartment, but it might not be safe for the loose cartridges and it'll add to the thickness of the case. There is enough extra room in the system compartment to hold more games. Again it might not be safe for the loose cartridges. If you can find those slim game cases that hold 1-4 cartridges (like from Power A's "Clean and Protect Kit" for the 3DS; older ones will work for non-3DS games while you can keep 3DS games pocketed in the case), then those would be good to use inside the system compartment.

Overall, despite its size, it's a great case for safely and securely transporting your Nintendo 3DS and games. If you don't think you'll need this much room, but would like something similar then Power A's Explorer Starter Kit might be best. It's costs almost twice as much, but comes with a clamshell case, cleaning cloth, extra stylus pens, screen protectors, headphones, and a car charger. The case is slightly smaller than the Mini Elite Transporter.
