            We own three of these sets and they most certainly are wood. The image is printed on paper and attached to the thin wood just like any other wooden puzzle, ei. Melissa and Doug. The edges of ours have lost a little color due to excessive use and the children using their fingrnails to take them apart, instead of dumping them over to break them up. Other than that, they have been outstanding!! Have been searching for another set for my daughter in something other than Disney Princess. Don't hesitate to buy!!

                These puzzles are recommended for ages 3 - 7. My grandson is 2 1/2 and loves them. There are 24 pcs to each puzzle...cardboard just like most jigsaw puzzles are. Not a problem. He puts one together takes it apart, puts it in its nice case and grabs the next set. 4 puzzles divided by little divided box with nice lid to do puzzles on. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SET!!! If your child takes care of his.her things then this should last a long while. I can attest that he plays with the puzzles 15 or 20 times a day and they are in excellent shape!

                    I was excited about this product because it boasted four wooden puzzles in a storage box. My son is really starting to get into puzzles and couldn't wait to start. However, when we opened the outer wrapping we discovered that the box was broken (not glued together well). That, I could live with, since a little glue could have fixed it. However, the puzzles are not real wood but rather thick cardboard. After playing with the puzzles a few times, they started to bend and the edges started to turn. Disappointed. I will return for a better quality product.

                    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
