While it is the "entry level" gun in the Nerf Vortex line, it doesn't mean you should pass it up. At under $15 bucks this XLR disc shooting gun is the best bargain of the line!

So, what's the downside? It only takes one disc at a time.

The next bump up, the Vigilon, another manual Vortex gun, can hold 5 at a time. And, has a VERY cool effect when you dump the side to load.

But, if the budget is small, you can get a lot of toy with the entry Proton.

Trigger Jammed

Opened this up this morning for my son. Trigger was already jammed. Followed instructions implicitely but never worked. Now will have to return for something else. Son very disappointed.

For Christmas, my 11 year old son got this Nerf gun. It came with 3 discs. It reloads fast. It shoots out 1 disc at a time. He doesn't like that it is a single shot. You can't shoot it without a disc in it. He is really happy with it. The discs ricochets off the wall. The disc flies like a Frisbee. I would recommend this toy to a friend.

I bought these guns for my 4 and 7 year old for Christmas. Most of the Nerf guns are hard from my 4 year old to shoot, but this one is a breeze. They have had a blast with them.

Pretty good, I LOVED THIS GUN! I can't stop playing it! only problem is I dropped it in the mud and it gets stuck. It is very powerful. so powerful it can break glass! (Personal expeirience)
So for those who ONLY allow kids to play outside with these, I dont recommemd that. I lost 2 out of 3 discs. VERY GOOD GUN!

This product does exactly what it says it does, my grandson loves it. But is better played outside instead of inside and you have to teach them to be careful as the discs come out at a high rate of speed for younger kids.

this was purchased as an xmas gift for my daughter. I originally was just going to purchase for my son, but I knew that she would want one also, so I purchased for her so they could play with each other.
It is a great toy and so far played w/everyday.

I got this blaster a few days ago, and I must say wow to Nerf. This blaster blew me away at ranges, looks, and method of loading and firing. I would HIGHLY reccomend this as an outdoor toy, because the small discs get lost with furniture and toys.

10/10 Nerf. You've done it again.
