    I bought this radio for my then 3 year old son last Christmas. It came with the adapter so I'm not sure what the others are complaining about. It has work fine for about a year now without any complications. It reads all of the CDs just fine even the homemade ones. I think it was a great buy and my now 4 year old son is still getting use out of it and has not lost any interest in Lightening McQueen nor music.

    I bought this at the TRU store as a gift for my 3 yr. old nephew. The cashier opened the box, pulled out the instruction packet and said that it came with an AC adapter. It does not! There is an insert that says you can send away for an adapter for [$]. How ridiculous! So now this thing ends up costing[$]! Why would anyone sell a kids CD player that cannot be plugged in? They constantly forget and leave it on. Also, it does NOT have working headlights & is not able to play MP3s. Buy the CD player from the original Cars movie. My son (6 yrs.) has it and it CAME WITH an AC adaptor, has AM/FM radio, a port for MP3 players AND it's cheaper. This one isn't worth it!

      My son received this as a Christmas gift. We had to purchase the a/c adapter for $21.99 since it was not included. After using the cd player twice, it started pausing during play and even stopping completely. We returned it to the store and the same thing happened to the new player. I decided to contact kid designs and they replaced the player (after telling me that they haven't had any issues with this product). The third player has done the same thing. I do not recommend this product at all!

          Brought this for my son for Christmas only for him to open it and not have a A/C adapter. He still like to play with it because he just sees it as a car he is only 2 years old. The power cord is $21.99. Would not have bought it if I knew that I would have to buy the A/C adapter separately. If your are think of buying it you should get batteries or buy ahead of time to get the A/C adapter before needing to use it.

            Have not attempted to get it replaced, but it is a piece of junk = the sound is horrible and it broke after 20 days. Gave it to my son on his b=day on Aug. 5th and it broke this morning. Was not abused and barely even played. Given the other reviews, I would stay away.

                      Ran Batteries down in just one night. doesn't come with an AC adapter and tried to use another ac 9v adapter and it only worked for 2 days and then died. Called company and the customer service was very aware of the problems with this product and the inconvenience of getting an AC adapter. YOu can't order it online or pay over the phone. You have to pre mail 21.99 to the company for them to send you the AC adapter. It's almost like they want your product not to work:( Please please don't waste your money on this product.

                          I bought this about two years ago at Toys R Us and bought their purchase protection plan. It has never worked very well, difficult to get to play cd's reliably. The antenna broke very easily. I tried to follow through on Toys R Us protection plan, got everything together and THREE times called and they said they were sorry but their systems were down, please call back. I never did get through to them and then the coverage expired. Definitely a shoddy piece. Looks great, does NOT work great. Also a very big piece...unnecessarily so and takes up a great deal of room on a dresser etc.

                          Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

                          Its Not bad, everyone is Mad that there is no adapter and they cant get one to work because of the plug so here you go, VroomBox Needs Adapter 9v 1.5a 5.5mm OD 2.1 ID its mostly an Euro size plug that's why most us plugs don't fit.lol they probably make the Euro one US standard lol, you can get one on a auction site for 5 bucks as per the skipping its mostly a low battery problem when I got the plug it stops. Looks like an RC.

                          This was the biggest dissapointment ever for my 3 year old son! We ordered the radio for a Christmas present and it didn't make it to December 27th. I forgot to turn it off and even though it wasn't playing the batteries died in two days. But by that time the CD player skipped several time on every song. My son kept saying "Mommy it's not working!". Terrible product.

                                    This is the WORST toy ever. First off, you have to buy a $25 charger to get it working (or a heap of C-batteries). Secondly, we got the first one replaced b/c it stopped working after 30 days. The 2nd replacement stopped working after 60 days. DO not buy this toy.
