Before you buy please read the reviews, specifically the high pitch feedback noise we all get. I wish I would have followed my own advice because this is such a waste of money and disappointing to my son. It worked for maybe 24hrs then it started with this terrible, painful, high pitch sound that does't stop. The best use for this product is in the trash.

The microphone has a cute concept - you can talk into it and it makes car noises and talks to you IF you can hear it over the constant high pitched screeching it emits. Very annoying.

We bought this for Christmas and our 2 year old was very excited to use it except when we put batteries in it the microphone didn't work.I noticed more toys now are not including batteries so it is hard to tell if you have a defective toy or not.

We got this for our 3yr old son for christmas and it is horrible. If the top of the mic gets close to anything at all you get really bad high pitched feedback, the only way to avoid this is to hold it a foot or so away when using it but then id doesn't pick up what your saying. Also it says some quotes from the movie but it sounds like its in slow motion and it creeps our son out. Not one thing about this toy our son likes. And BTW yes we put brand new batteries in it.

This microphone is a lot of fun, but there is no volume control like others said. Also if you cover and of the holes it screeches and keeping it away from your face is hard for a toddler to do. I don't know if we got a defective unit or not but our unit turns off after two minutes. Returning for a different microphone.

This was a birthday present to my grandson who loves to sing. He loves it! There were 2 negatives to me, one was the feedback that he gets when he holds the mic too close to his mouth; and the other is the speaker is not loud enough (maybe that is a blessing in disguise). Otherwise, nice little microphone for a child.

This does let a child talk into the mic and it is somewhat clear but there is no music at all and I would have just like to have a couple songs on it for the really little ones to play with.

My 2 year old and 3 year old love this product. Yes it does have that squealing sound every once in a while but I have a high tolerance to noise. For the price we paid ([$]) it was well worth it. It does not have a volume control so if you don't like loud noises, I would not recommend purchasing this but if noises don't bother you then its a great toy.

My son love's microphones and singing. He was really excited to get this item for Christmas 2011. But, it squeels when you put it down, when you get to close to the tv, when he touches the bottom of the microphone. My son has an electric bass guitar that makes noise but nothing compairs what this toy does to my head. I took it away from him. I was told it has a volumne I am still looking for it. My son thinks it is funny to make everyone in the house suffer with this noice. I upset! Why can't anyone make a good toy worth selling for kids of today like yesteryears!

My husband and I purchased this for our son's 5th birthday. He loves it. The microphone is easy to figure out how to use, in fact, my son shared it with his 2 year old sister and she could use it no problems. The amplification is good. My son loves the sound effects and the movie phrases. My only complaint and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that when the kids put the microphone too close to their mouths(like most kids do)the microphone squeals. I have to keep reminding them to hold it away from their mouths because I can't handle the high pitched squealing noise. It's my issue but at times makes me want to take the batteries out. Overall this is a great microphone for a child to play with.
