Comments about Duncan Toys Pro-Z Competition Yo-Yo:

This is the first Duncan yoyo with transforming capabilities. I thought extra wing parts were a gimmick. However, I was proofed wrong. It really is like having two yoyo's. The looping mode yoyo could be more responsive. That can be fixed by putting a friction sticker over one of the starburst. When you insert the spacers it becomes a very capable 1A/3A yoyo. It is probably the best combination yoyo on the market. The only fault in this yoyo is that there is minimal vibe. It doesn't bother me though considering what you get for the price. For [$] who wouldn't by two pretty good yoyos.

Having heard about these yoyos about a year ago from a teaser video Duncan put up, I had been interested. Now that they've landed in stores, it was time to pick up 1 (or more) of these up.For [$] I'm pretty impressed with what these are capable of and how they play. There's minimal vibe but that doesn't bother me considering what price range we're looking at. What's cool is that you can switch it from being a looping yoyo (May want to use a thick lube on the bearing and maybe even go as far as getting a friction sticker over one of the starburst for better response) to a 1A/3A yoyo by putting in a couple spacers and swapping out the bolt. The black/white combo and the translucent yellow/green & black combo caught my attention and picked up a few of these for 2-handed tricks. I have had a few bad binds causing unpleasant snags due to a narrower gap so this will force me to have cleaner binds when using a clean, unresponsive bearing. Honestly, I'd recommend this for both beginners starting out, and advanced players looking to add to their collection. I don't know if I'd use it in competition but it is definitely fun to have in your collection and have as a pocket yo to take with you.
