This game was purchased for 9 and 10 year old boys and they loved it. They usually play Mario type role-playing games and after reading reviews I purchased this game. Both loved it and played it for hours. Even my husband played for a while and said it was definitely a fun game. It is just challenging enough for both the boys. I would not think it would be appropriate for under 8 as diffictulty level is pretty hard.
