Wonderful Little Workshop

We were given a Step2 Home Depot Workshop to review and it was perfect! My son is 3 and he is at that stage of figuring out how to take things apart. By showing him how to 'build' things in his workshop with the particle board pieces and instructions, he is able to see how things are put together.

Some of the neat things about the Home Dept Workshop is the realistic lighting, the power drill actually works just like a real drill (even with a reverse mode), there is storage for all the particle board pieces, screws and bolts and the saw actually moves back and forth with sound similar to a real saw! So our son was able to mimic things with Daddy and at one point they both had their power drills out to see how they both worked the same.

We really love the Step2 Home Depot Workshop. It was pretty easy to assemble and I only had trouble with the inner screws, it looks great and it really made my son so happy.

As an additional note, the particle board is pretty thick and also bendable / durable so little ones that chew on it aren't going to bite through. Having a son that is a biter this was one feature I specifically took a care to and one I really appreciated when I realized that it was safe.

I ordered this toy for my son's 2nd birthday a week ago and finally recieved it in the mail today. Took the toy out of the box and it looked great. But I couldn't tell you how my son plays with it because I received the toy with no assembly instructions. So now I have to wait another 7 days just for someone to RESPOND to my request for new instructions (like I lied to them that my box didn't come with them). Then I have to wait another 7 days for someone to mail me assembly instructions. If it wasn't for this irriation, I would say the toy is great. I had researched the item and took my son to the store to play with it and he loved it there, so that was all the research I needed. The toy is kind of pricey

I got this for our little boy for his third birthday and he loves it! He uses it to do "work" like Daddy and it also doubles as a jail for bad guys. It is big, but also light weight which is great for moving (as we are in the process of doing). Great choice for little boys or little girls that like tools!

This was a Christmas gift for our 3 & 1 year olds and they love it! The tool are realistic and the bench itself is sturdy. My kids are climbers and it is still holding strong 3 months later. The only con I see is the power tools aren't strong enough to do the projects you are given. If you want to acutally use tools to do the projects you have to use the hand tools. Kind of a bummer for the little guys that love the power tools. Over all, I would buy it again and really enjoy it.

The online order and pick up at the store was a huge benefit! I will not hesitate to do that again! I was afraid there wouldn't be any when I got there. The workbench was relatively easy to put together. My son loves it! All of the tools and the bench give him plenty to do. The height is perfect for him at 4. I think he is 36-40" tall.
