Features
Inflatable flying shark
This flying shark measures approximately 4.5 feet from end to end; fill it with helium (sold separately), and it'll swim around the house! It is designed for indoor use only.
Waving fins and tail
This radio-control flying shark really looks like it's swimming through the air! Just like a real fish, its fins wave to move it along.
Radio control
The radio-control transmitter has a straight-line range of up 50 feet, and the signal can penetrate some walls. It controls up, down, forward, and right and left movement. It transmits on either 40 or 27 MHz.

The Remote Control Air Swimmers Flying Shark comes complete with everything you need to fly it, except for Helium. You will need to fill the Air Swimmers with Helium before it will fly. There are 2 options for obtaining this Helium either buy a helium canister and fill up the Air Swimmers in your own home or take the Air Swimmers to a Helium supplier (party shops, florists). In the box there is a tether that can be used to take the Air Swimmers foil back after it is filled up with Helium. Do this before adding the electronics and fins. This item is not for use at altitudes over 4,000 feet.

Air Swimmers Extreme is exclusive to Toys 'R Us. This model is Radio Control and not to be confused with the IR version of Air Swimmers. Radio Control allows for approximately 50% longer range flying and unlike the basic IR version will still operate even without line of site!

At first my wife and I refused to purchase this toy, however after countless request from our 4 year old son and as the only toy he asked Santa for we could not stand to see his disappointment Christmas morning when it didn't arrive. As this was a very hot item this year it was very difficult to find a store with any in stock. About a weeks before Christmas we decided to find one no matter what. I got up early and called every Toys r us within 250 miles. Only to find 3 in the Slidell, La store which was over 2 hrs drive. Since they were willing to hold one at customer service we made the drive. Now feeling relieved that we had his no. 1 item for x-mas, nothing more to worry about, wrong. This morning 2 days prior to Xmas I decided to assemble this monster. After reading the reviews on the assembly troubles I was prepared to spend a few hours on this thing. To my surprise the toy was actually very easy to put together, the YouTube video helped tremendously. After final assembly and time running out I turned it on to test fly. To my surprise the thing didn't even work. Now we are without a gift for our son and have no way to replace it until after Xmas. To top the situation the company who developed the air swimmer has develped the toys r us version for them to their design specs and are unwilling to assist and pit the entire problem onto toys r us. Toys r us customer service and management was horrible in assisting us with the cheap toy and unwilling to help us for our troubles. Also would like to note the rudeness of the toys r us management. Please pitch in oand help to make the company pay for poor practices and buy toys elsewhere. I am making a commitment today to never shop Toys r us ever again. Please do the same. Have a Merry Christmas.

    The Flying Shark is alot of fun and educational for adults and kids alike. The swimming motion/propulsion is innovative. The realism is great. Although not very durable because of material vs weight constraints,it's a very well thought-out toy. One of these is in daily use since early Febuary and have only needed to replentish the Helium.

    Helium did not support balloon at higher altitudes (wish I had known that before ordering). Stickers did not attach fins, tail, and motor securely to balloon; parts kept falling off. Motor did not work -- possibly due to bad batteries (included), but the shark was not going to float anyway.

    I bought this for my nephew. The materials were so very cheap. It took a moderate effort to assemble only to produce horrible disappointment. I cannot get over how cheap this is, especially for the price. It certainly does not have the flying control it implies. Do not purchase this product.

        You put this together yourself, its supposed to float in the air. It is very difficult to put together, once its together it would not stay in the air. My 6 year old wanted one so badly. I bought it for Christmas. It was priceless watching his reaction when he opened it but he has not touched it since christmas eve.. It was a complete waste of time, money..

            I bought the Air Swimmer for my 4 year old nephew after much hesitation based on reviews. I wish I never bought this product. The materials are VERY cheaply made. Assembly took some time for such a product. It is primarily a balloon with items taped to it. The Air Swimmer does not have the control it implies. It is simply a very expensive balloon that will last a few days. Do not waste your time/money!

              My 6 year old son was very excited to get his Air Swimmer. On the first use, the fragile tail broke. My husband was able to work some magic and get it going again. The Air Swimmer must be used indoors, and it is much larger than I expected, which makes it difficult to navigate and does not give you much room to play with it. After the second use, my son accidently turned on the ceiling fan, tearing a huge hole in the side of the balloon. It is a lot of money to spend for such a short use.

                  This product is a huge failure. The assembly is difficult, the tape doesn't stick, the antenna's reception is intermittent, etc. It's too difficult for the kids to operate and it seems the creators had more work to do before selling this overpriced balloon. In addition, helium prices are outrageous. So, to keep this balloon going would be a small fortune. I recommend passing on this purchase even though it seems like a cool idea.

                  Yes,it takes a while to assemble.We didn't have any problems with that, but it is touchy about have the right weight. Problem is that after one day of being assembled, the ineffective adhesive just let go of the tail. You know, the one that is held by rubber bands that then shot off into another dimension while I slept. 4 of them. I found 3 in various places, but the fourth one is a goner. Seems like they should have tested it for maybe TWO days to figure out they needed better stickum.

                      Very difficult for a 7yr old to assemble, expensive in a way that have to buy helium tank separately. After first night had to reinflate again, and on second day tail fell off! I'm so glad bought 15month replacement for $7.99, but really, is it worth it for another of this cheap toys?

                        This toy is not for young children. I bought this for my 9 and 12 year old boys. Assembly takes time but with two boys who like challenges, this was perfect. Once it was put together, they had a blast with the shark swimming around in our house. It is a super cool toy. It's too bad that this product received such a low rating.
