cheap wheels make these useless

My son tried these out this weekend and the wheels had no traction. He wiped out on every turn and couldn't push off.

Replacing the cheap wheels with real wheels would cost more than new skates.

I bought these for my son who needed them for gym class. He wore them a few weeks before the ankle latch pulled away from the boot, and now there is no way of tightening it. Very disappointed in the purchase.

Bought this for my 11-year old son. They looked great at the store and were priced reasonably. He was having difficulty skating on them so I tried them on myself and found that the ankle support was very bad and the wheels were cheap. I looked like a beginner trying to skate with these. I gave him my skates and took these back.

Mongoose changed their skate design with this model. They used to use polyurethane wheels, but now they've switched to cheap PVC. There's no traction! What used to be a sport skate is now an overpriced toy. It's unfortunate. Luckily, the old Mongoose styles are still for sale at Toys R Us!
