Great toy on it's own,more detail than the original. However it does not fit with the current reproduction line; coloring is off from pictured; nothing of what it should be since it is supposed to fit with the other remakes. In this respect it is a big disappointment.

Very true to the original 1983 G.I. Joe Sky Striker, with a nice updated look. I love the cartoon inspired black rear wings, and the detailed cockpit. Only wish they would have made this with a two seater cockpit, like the original. I like the figure's overall look, but I want my Joes to get their "O rings" back, with harder plastic.

I agree 100% with the other bad reviews. The missiles, canopy, and wings fall off if you even look at it wrong. My son was discouraged, decided fine ill play with it without the missiles and canopy, you can still fly it around, yeah until the wings fell off. In my 6yr old's own words "this jet is LAME!" he can't even fly it around, and pretend, it's too bad everything falls off. it's a good concept, just too bad it doesnt stay together. worthless, it was a gift so we cant return it

Mine is mainly for display because it just looks too good to mess with! it's not that hard to assemble, it has great paint apps, the sticker sheet offers plenty of customizing. the only negatives i have are that my bombs fall off easily, and not being able to have both the wings swept back and the landing gear deployed (without modification.) this is worth having 2 or more because you can either print out your own custom stickers or buy prepared stickers that only improve the look of this marvelous jet.

I should start by saying my son is obsessed with Top Gun the movie and he thinks this plane is from Top Gun so he is in love with it. It did take a while to put together (my husband, not me) he said the stickers took the longest amount of time. We took the missiles off the plane and put them aside - my son is only 21 months. This is a great plane, big but very well made, high quality too - its been dropped a few times already

With the price of plastic rising it is amazing that even at the higher TRU price it's still cheap as it is. The pop off parts are more the fault of retailers who want smaller shelf presence and current safety standards. If people weren't crying about the parts breaking free under pressure, they'd be crying about broken tabs or pieces. If you played with these as a kid then falling off missiles and wing-what-nots were common occurrences and have been part of GI Joe for 30-years now! In fact I'll take loose missiles over the missiles that cracked in half on the old toy because they fit too tightly! It's not meant to be as durable as a real F-14 and you'll see the same issues with anything from Star Wars to Transformers toys! This is definitely for an older child and if you have a younger child that tears things apart then parental supervision, as most instruction sheets recommend, may be required.

I bought one each for my son and my daughter because of the memories that I had as a child. My son got his first and and was very excited as we started to assemble it. It went together very easy and he started to play with it. One minute into his "mission" the missles and bombs fell off untouched. We put them back multiple times and boom, same thing. So he played with it without the weapons and found out that the tailfins and wings don't hold on much better. I understand they are made to come off rather than snap which is great but they should not fall off at a liitle bump into the couch. Needless to say my daughters is going back to TOYSRUS, my kids have ten dollar toys that are more durable than this. I am extemelly disappointed that this was such a bust as I am looking at the shell of the plane lying in the floor with no wings, missles, cockpit hatch or any other of the attachnemts that needed assembling.

As a collector I highly recommend this toy, especially if you like GI Joe toys. It's a great throwback to the old Sky-Striker from the 1980's. The moving wings and Landing gear movement, which are operated by a lever system, works nicely. The Decals look great on the plane once they are applied and your allowed a lot of customization with alternate decals. The most common complaint about this toy is that the missiles don't stay on very well, but they seem to be staying on just fine for me. The action figure that comes with the plane is excellent and fits in the cockpit with ease, but it's very difficult to get his hands on the controls. This is a must have for both collectors and parents looking for a cool Christmas/birthday gift for their kids.

this is a perfect send back to when i was 7.
it works just like the original and looks good doing.

the only downside, and pretty disapointing downside at that is the fact that they saw fit to make this a single seat jet, when the orriginal was a 2 seater.
that and the missile points are too small.
the missiles keep falling off.
you can look at this thing cross wise and they fall off.

at any rate, i knew the seating when i baught it, so it's not a let down.
the missiles kind of are though.
all in all i love this model it looks great and all that.
