Yes the zipper is a little stiff but I think this was done to prevent little hands from getting pinched. For those that wanted something they can hold on to while they read/play (like a book cover) I realize that type of storage merged with usability is a bonus feature on some storage cases for different devices like ipad & kindle but lets be rational its a "storage" for kids and thats all it promised you, from what I can see it does do the job it was designed for and quite honestly I am happy my kids have a compact shell protector to store the unit and all the little cartridges in. If you just want something that will protect the unit from falls while allowing use try the leapad gel skin, it's a cheaper option, or better yet use both together. As for the limited cartridge storage I think that was done with expectations that parents would prefer to purchase their games online as download content rather than the mini cartridge options that too easily get lost.It seems like quality construction, well made, protective, and with a little ingenuity you can easily store up to 12 game cartridges instead of 6 just by stacking 2 cartridges in each well 1 at a time (See my pic). With the first cartridge entering the well upside down and the 2nd cartridge going right side up that limited storage problem is solved :)

I bought this case to protect my child's Leappad. I was very disappointed when I recieved it. It looks nice and can hold 6 game cartridges, which is good, but it has no strap to hold the tablet in place. You just sit the tablet into the spot where it goes, but it doesn't fit tightly or anything so the child has to be very, very careful when opening it, because the tablet will fall out on the floor. I plan to buy some elastic and correct this problem, but I really shoouldn't have to do Leapfrog's job for them.

              We like the case for on the go play, the only thing that could be better is space. It perfectly fits the Leap pad 2 & has space for cartridges, but no room for headphones or recharger.

                  I think this is a good product - teaching out son to put the leappad II in the case, zip and put it away. But our leappad II has the gel skin on it - so it doesn't "snap" into the case the way that the toy seems like it's supposed to.

                      This case is well made and offers great storage of game cards. I was worried it would be too difficult, but my 4 year old is able to easily take the cards in and out of their holders. I was a little disappointed as it is just a carrying case. Meaning that the leap pad sits in a depression in the foam, but it doesn't lock in place. I was hoping it would be like an ipad case so that the leap pad would stay in the case/ provide protection while he's playing with it.

                          I bought this for my daughter for her leap pad explorer 2. It has perfect stoarge for the unit and her games. Game cartridges fit snuggly inside the elastic bands, never to be lost. She loves it. Great buy!
