Got this for my 5 year old expecting it to keep her busy with something that is educational. And while it does have some fun games, the hassle of loading it onto my laptop in order to receive her "points," which by the way are NEEDED in order to play some of the games, was absolutely unwanted. It's basically useless unless you have the time of day to wait for it to load components every day, which I don't. It now sits in her toy closet, unused.

My little boy like this product but the problem is the shipping fee is to much for $25 dollars.the size of the product is not so big to have a shipment fee of $25.Im so disappointed to you guys.you must lower the shipment according to it's height and weight in a practical payment of shipment fee.

My 3yr old wanted something that was easy to use and fun. EASY TO USE check

Mommy wanted something that will last, and I didn't have to mess with too much, and easy to find games for and that was afforable.

The amount of time my daughter spends on this, I will have to buy a set of 12 batteries per week!
then the price of new and awesome games, one game is over $25 dollars! I am sorry to say I regret this thing, and the most frustrating is that it is NOT RECHARGEABLE!
I bought an i**d and I have spent more time on it and all three of my kids, including my 3 yr old, and it is everything i was looking for, and I have spent HARDLY ANYTHING on games. I HAVE OVER 100 APPS AND WE PLAY THEM ALL THE TIME. I should have bought my three yr old a mini i**d. It has better warranty, battery life and FREE GAMES THAT CAN GROW WITH HER, AND HER SIBLINGS.

Great product for the little ones. I don't quite feel that a 3-5 year old is ready for a Ipad, so this was the next choice and it was a great one. It's well worth the money and provides a lot of learning tools through apps, books, and videos... my little ones can be entertained for hours especially when driving and be learning while they are doing it!

My boys LOVE their new Leap Frog games. They games are fun and educational. Some are expensive but you can download them up to 3 times so I pay for a game once and can put it on each of the boys devices. They do go through batteries but we have rechargeable batteries. We do have to recharge them almost every day and it only takes an hour or so for them to fully charge. Well worth having rechargeables!!!

I absolutely love the LeapPad1, however if you are going to spend the money buy the LeapPad2. [I actually own one of each.] And the only reason I say this is because the LeapPad1 runs on batteries and you have to replace the batteries once a week - if you don't have rechargeable batteries. So the money you save buying the less expensive LeapPad1 will be gone and you will actually spend more money in the long due to batteries. The LeapPad2 has a rechargeable battery pack that you can purchase separately from the tablet, so once you put them in you can simply plug in your LeapPad2 at night to recharge, just like you would a cell phone. Other than that I love the LeapPad1 and I take it everywhere I go. I love that the games are educational and I can monitor their progress online. It comes in handy waiting for Drs appointment, for food a restaurant and so on.

To be fair I must say my child loves the programs, but Leap Frog should stick to creating games for tablets. This LeapPad is slow and not very responsive. Not to mention their own update bricked the device it hangs at 5% and won't progress. I've contacted support and all they do is send me e-mails.

Serivce is awful hardware too. Buy a tablet you're better off.

We LOVE this product. I wish it had the cool rechargeable feature like the new one, but so happy with this product. My daughter has speech problems and the way the machine sounds out letters has encouraged her to have more confidence in achieving her goal of learning to be able to effectively communicate with others. I like that we can download games without having to search all over the place for a certain game or book at different stores.

The leap pad is an overall great product but it just didnt last long enough. Its a tablet for kids and it should be heavy duty because it is for kids and for some reason my childs leap pad does not want to turn on anymore and a year hasnt even passed by. I was not even offered a warranty through toys r us.

I don't use this product at all since I bought it. For the price that you spend on the leappad plus the amount that you have to pay for each app you might as well invest in an iPad or kindle. You can find great educational apps from free to a third of the price that you will pay on leapfrog. It's not at all what I expected. Not to mention it take a long time just to download a new app. The only good thing I can even think of to say about this product is you don't have to charge it, but that's no big deal! I'll probably just give it away to someone that can make use of it.
