My 2-year old loves this toy and it keeps him interested. I love that it's simple, all one piece and colorful. Although it doesn't fold or anything like that, it's easier to store than I thought. It really doesn't take up much space.

Rough Wood Finish

I purchase this product in the store without closely inspecting the quality of the wood finish. I did so at home to discover the finish was rough with prickly small burs. As I rubbed my hand over the wood I was stuck with a splinter.
This item seems sturdy but they quality of the wood finish could be much safer for children soft skin/hands.
I had to sand the wood with 120 grit, steel wool 000 to get it very smooth. Next I sealed it with water based clear coat to give it a nice semi-glossy finish.
I will be hesitant to purchase this line of products in the future.
Please make sure your brand 'Imaginarium' toys safe for children.

My three old wanted an abacus and so we got him one! After his bedtime story my husband counts with him and he learned how to count to 100 using this! A simple and classic toy.

This is a good toy for church service, it is quiet and engaging. The younger child is attacted to the colors and moving the round balls acrossed the abacus. My 7 year old son appreciates it for being able to count, sort, and learning multiple.

Our kids love their Abacus! At the ages of 3 and 4 they can count to 100, add and subtract with ease! With an abacus, they are able to learn the math concepts, not just memorizing numbers. When they grasped the concepts, there was no stopping their progress!I can realistically see us moving to multiplication within the next 7 or 8 months. They say things like, "Math is fun!" and play number games, quizzing each other! I couldn't be happier with this product. Every child should have one! It is now my baby shower and birthday gift of choice! - And it's sturdy too!
