This a great toy I bought for my 4 year old niece. She loved it as soon as she saw it and loved playing with it. It seems well made and seems to be something that will be fun to play with for a while. The only things I'd really say could use some improvement is it comes with a very small key that can be used to lock the money drawer. This key will be easy to loose. Either you could leave the drawer unlocked and put the key away (the drawer can still be opened and closed without the key - but if the drawer is locked it must have the key to open), or find some typed of large, bright key ring/holder to attach to it. If the drawer is locked and the key is lost - much of the fun of the register will be lost. Also, it could with bar code stickers that the scanner really scans and then speaks the price of the item (really neat), but the set only comes with four cardboard "shopping items" that the bar code stickers can be put on; however there is a sheet of stickers that contains probably 20 barcodes that can be used. My suggestion is to also purchase a set of grocery items or something else they can have to place the stickers on so that they have more than 4 items to scan. Other than that, the cash register was a big hit! And it also has a microphone on it where the cashier can call for "help" throughout the "store!" Fun for any little girl who enjoys playing store!

Santa brought this to my 7 year old daughter. We opened it changed the batteries on Christmas Day and nothing!!! Very disappointing. Santa purchased online, I sure hope it is available in store to exchange!!! Thanks TRU!

I'd give it a few more stars, if the scanner didn't stop working 5 days after we got home. The rest of it is fine, so that is the odd part. The credit card slider is too tightly attached to the register. As soon as you pull it off its base, it springs back. What's the purpose of having it detach? There is no volume (minus). Good thing, is that it turns itself off after a few minutes of not being used.

My daughter loves this But the scanner doesn't not work! Taking it back today hopefully better luck with a new one.

My 3 year old has really gotten into playing restaurant with her kitchen and this was the perfect touch! We used the sticky bar codes on a "menu" so she can scan what we order, she LOVES it!

I bought this register for my granddaughters ages 6 & 5. They spend hours playing store, and they love it.

So far my daughter is enjoying this but the microphone doesn't seem to be working. I changed the batteries, switched it to normal mode and hit the reset. I can't find any information or website about how to troubleshoot. I can only rate it 3 stars because it does not completely work.

My daughter is almost 7 and she has no problem working the scanner. She LOVES it and it works great. If you scan the barcode upside down then you will get the wrong price so just be sure you scan in the proper direction.

When you put the bar codes on the products it does not scan the properly, It reads the wrong number and really does not teach children math very well. The scanner is also very hard to work and the register every time my daughter pushes a button it reads an error message.
