My 9 month old mostly likes the balls, though I'm sure she'll enjoy the intended functionality once she's older. It's more of a toddler toy. I thought the unit was supposed to shut down or sleep by itself, but I've noticed it doing some weird things. Today, it started singing the alphabet song by itself while sitting upright on the floor, and my daughter was napping in her crib. It woke her up, of course. Other times, I've come home from work and heard it making noise by itself (when no one else was home).

Kind of creepy. Maybe I have an defective unit. Other than that, it works fine though. Just not a super exciting toy for an infant. I'm not even sure a toddler would quickly figure out how to reseat the balls (i.e., push down the buttons that make it pop out).

Good but needs aussie version

By Rosyb

from Altona, Victoria

Comments about Kids II 1001174 Bright Starts Having a Ball Alphabet Pop Top:

My daughter recieved this for Christmas. I understand these products are sold worldwide but there needs to be an option for Australian/British pronunciations of the Alphabet, especially Z. I dont like that it says "Zee" not "Zed". Also, the balls dont stay on as well as in the video.

Great entertainment for a 12 month old

By jamie

Comments about Kids II 1001174 Bright Starts Having a Ball Alphabet Pop Top:

This toy is great for my 12 month old. He loves the music and how the balls fly out of it. He was very quick to learn how to place them back in. We have had it for about 2 weeks now and he plays with it daily. I love that it has both music and learning options on it.
The toy says it is for 6-18 months of age. I think 6 months is to young to enjoy this toy and it is more appropriate for 12 months and up. a six month old would not understand the concept of replacing the balls.
The music does seem to be just a little to loud. it would be great if there was an option for volume levels. Other than that I have no complaints about the toy.
I did receive this product from Bright Starts for free, but these opinions and views are my own.

Comments about Kids II 1001174 Bright Starts Having a Ball Alphabet Pop Top:

I thought the shooting character balls would be cool, but after getting it, it is just one more thing I have to pick up after. I like the lights and songs. Seems kind of loud. Would have liked volume options. I can't say I would recommend this.

Entertaining Toy

By Mom of Baby Girl

from Atlanta, Ga

Comments about Kids II 1001174 Bright Starts Having a Ball Alphabet Pop Top:

My daughter received this toy for her 1st birthday. She loves playing with the balls and chasing after them when they pop out. She likes watching it spin around and tries to stop it herself to get to the balls. Overall, I am very pleased with this toy.

Okay toy

By jimmyjams11

Comments about Kids II 1001174 Bright Starts Having a Ball Alphabet Pop Top:

This toy is okay but my toddler enjoys it more that my infant. I would prefer it if it had a volume control but there is only one volume and that is loud. I ended up putting tape over the speaker holes to try and make it a little quieter.

This toy is a for toddler! Beware!

By Laura

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Kids II 1001174 Bright Starts Having a Ball Alphabet Pop Top:

This toy is not for a 6 month old but a toddeler who is at least 2 and up. The balls shoot out way to fast for a baby! I tested this before giving it to my 5 month old and glad I did because the balls just shoot out way too fast and could injure her. It's also defective because not all of the balls come out at once as shown on the picture. I returned the toy! Beware!

Just Stopped Working Completely

By KPS

from Poplar Ridge , NY

Comments about Kids II 1001174 Bright Starts Having a Ball Alphabet Pop Top:

Received this as a gift from a family member for my one year old. She liked pushing the buttons to play the music, but had a hard time figuring out how to put the balls back and reset them to pop out again. Sadly it just stopped working completely after just 2 weeks. It wasn't dropped or anything - she was playing with it and suddenly the music and lights just stopped and we never could get them to start up again.
