Richard Scarry's Busytown is based on the television show The Busy World of Richard Scarry, a Canadian/French animated educational children's television series, which aired from 1994 to 1997. The television series was based on the books drawn and written by Richard Scarry. Scarry's characters were almost always anthropomorphic animals. His books were popular with children throughout the world. While his books are largely populated by common animal species, he proved to be quite adept at giving human characteristics to a seemingly endless number of creatures. Some of the most common character are Huckle Cat, Lowly Worm, The Pig Family, Sergeant Murphy, Hilda Hippo and Bananas Gorilla.

- Fans of the show looking to bring a little bit of the Busytown experience into the real world won't go wrong with this playset.- The playset is plastic and small, but, it's intended for small hands.- You can put all of the included characters back into the set for keeping so you DON'T LOSE THEM! Novel idea! :)- It also comes with a DVD of the show - two episodes. I was very pleasantly surprised - great quality, stands up to abuse, very cute and lots of features. the tracks fit little matchbox type cars and also trains (although my husband thinks the trains are a pain since it is not intended to fit, but my little guy just is extra careful with them. Love this toy. Hangs together well, assembly was super easy.
