After installing it I fell in love with it more because im used to the seats that have the seat belt through the back of the car seat and hooking the metal clip to a loop somewhere under the vehicle seat and then pull the strap to tighten, but this car seat has two bars that pop out and you push the car seat back and the latches at the end of the bar latch to the loops under your seat, AND you put your seat belt from your vehicle through the back of the car seat for more security. The reason I rated a 4 instead of a 5 is because the car seats plastic snap that go across the chest seam cheap to me and with this car seat being soo bad aaa the snaps should be too. And maybe one day the cup holders will actually fit a sippy cup. The bottom snaps could be a bit bigger too. But wouldn't trade this safety for anything

I wouldn't suggest this product to anyone, simple way to put it is this is a cheap car seat.i had it for less than a year and the chest piece completly broke, and the bottom part you snap the other pieces into is already breaking and becoming very difficult to push the button.I dont have money to buy another car seat and this was just a waste of money.

I followed all the instructions to install it and I take care of it as we go along. I don't know how others had problems with the foam side bolster or the clip but mine has worked wonderfully!

This was a great product for a short period, the foam side bolster broke in less then a year. The company offered no assistance. Make sure you read the reviews other people have left for this product. My advice when purchasing a car seat is to check the warranty period. i will be buying a different brand and will never do business with this company. This company only offers a 180 day warranty, i guess they don't have faith in there product.

My son received this car seat for his second birthday. We had problems installing the seat in our SUV from the get-go,the REMS kept getting stuck and would not retract. Once we finally got the seat installed, it was nearly impossible to tighten the straps to keep him secure without un-doing the top tether strap. After 10 minutes of him being in the car seat he would start crying he was so uncomfortable. I had my husband bring our car to a certified car seat tech and the first words out of their mouth was "return this seat- it has major design flaws." We returned it the next day

I had bought other products from Baby Trend and was please with the purchases. In addition to its features such as the safety (UAS, LATCH anchor and EPS foam) and the 3 in 1, and after comparing to other car seats and its price, this car seat was the "one" where I felt my infant can use until it was not needed anymore.

Really sturdy, and almost everything I am looking for in a car seat.

The buckle system (plastic chest clip) could have been better and wish that it could have recline even more because when my infant falls a sleep her head hangs and with no support.

Heed the forewarning it is heavy 33lbs but seems like solidly built. But then again, some reviewers found it lightweight.

I bought this seat for the ease of install, and in that department it is fabulous. Clicks right in, nice and snug. However, the belt is SO difficult to tighten and most of the time I cannot get it tight enough that my son's arms can't slide underneath the chest clip. The bottom belt to tighten it is also frayed after me pulling so hard to *try* to tighten the straps. Also, after 2 months of use the bottom clip that holds the buckles jammed while my son was in it and I had to have it replaced. Babytrend's first response was "Well, he meets the requirements to use the vehicle belt, so you can use that instead." 0_0 really? I bought the car seat because I wanted him to be harnessed longer, and the company's first suggestion is one that compromises the level of my child's safety? UNREAL. They did eventually send me a new base but I had to keep calling and nag them. Ridiculous. I am very disappointed in both the product and the company. I am going to be buying a new seat very soon. Spend a few extra dollars and buy a Britax- I've used the one my younger son is in for 3 years without one issue; it's worth the money.

There's a reason I keep coming back to Baby Trend and that's because of their great customer service. I called them with a problem I had with the FastBack and they said they'll mail me a part to replace. It was that simple. Good work baby Trend

This seat had everything I was looking for. Unfortunately, after 4 months the harness tether was so terribly frayed, we could hardly tighten the harness (pretty much useless now). Also, as I have seen in several other new reviews, the harness clip cracked, which can cause it to pop open unexpectedly. I too contacted Baby Trend via email, and they asked that I send them photos of the damages parts and a scanned copy of my receipt. I did so immediately. I got no response, so I called Baby Trend instead. The customer service rep had me forward her the pictures. She informed me that they would send me a new harness clip and a completey new bottom booster. If you did not get support from Baby Trend in your first attemtps, I urge you to try again. I am very skeptical that these new parts will not fail within a few months, but we'll see. Baby Trend did ask that I inform them immediately if these same problems occur with the new parts. Do yourself a favor, buy a different seat!

I really wanted to like this seat, I did, but the buckle is just I possible. We got the seat for the ease and security of latching it to the car, but 1/3 of the time it takes me 5 minutes and sore thumbs to push the button to release his belt. I'm not sure if it is my seat that has a defect or all are like this. Today I actually had to loosen the straps and shimmy my son out the top without unbuckling the seat. The straps twist like crazy which makes this even worse. I am returning it tomorrow and I've only had it for just over a month!
