A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, Real Steel stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

    "Junk"....so not worth getting. Poorly made. Bought the product today and returning it tomorrow. Arms bearly moves and don't attach well to the body. Looks great, but that's about it.

    I had bought this for my son who loved the movie. He was so excited when he opened it on Christmas. Setup was easy, but we soon learned that one of the robots would be unable to hit the other one. So a few adjustments to the arm screws and I got it working. Except every time the arms pop off there was a 75 percent chance they would be out of alignment again. The kids quickly got bored with it and I got real tired of having to make fine adjustments every time they set it up. 10 seconds of fun followed by two minutes of headache. It seems like they probably rushed this toy to make a profit from the movie. I recommend that you stick with the original rock em sock em robots.

        Bought as a gift for 6 year old boy. Setting up wasn't bad - the arms have to be in just the right place or won't work. One player can't even reach the other with a right hand punch. The heads should be able to be knocked back, but on one it is so tight you can hardly move it by hand, but it don't matter because the other guy will never be able to reach his head.
        This was a good idea, and a failed engineering effort.
        It was fun for about 30 mins before he realized the problems and he was happy seeing it under the tree.

        Christmas gift for my 8 year old. It broke the first day--one of the arms won't punch anymore which makes the toy useless. We also bought additional robots thinking We could switch up, but the other robots are not compatible with the battle arena.

            My boys love it however the other two robots we purchase do not fit into ring! searched on line for other robots looks like they can only battle these two. doesn't make sense when the movie was all about battling there special robot! I think it would be beneficial to make other favorite charactors to battle?! alittle disappointing.

            Be bought this cuz we thought it looked cool, but the functionality is not as cool as it looks. One f the Robot does not work very good. It seems that the arms are not extending the way it should be. By the time we realized it did not work we threw out the box and the receipt, so now we are stuck with it.....

              Toy is poorly conceived. The design of the way they punch and make contact is just not right. You have to hit these two points on the chest of neck, but there no combination of placements of punches that actually work.

              We also had problem where one arm would eject when you threw a punch.

              Looks like they tried to make a great looking game but forgot to make the game actually work. We returned it and bought Rock'em Sock'em robots for the kids...

                We bought this for our grandson and are excited to give it to him for Christmas. The only problem we see is that we looked for other robots to use with this but were unable to find any there at Toys R Us. These robots have a special foot so that they snap in the ring. Anyone have any suggestions on where to find them? we bought other robots but the will now work in this ring.
