I have been using this bag for over a month as a replacement for a much heavier ad bulkier bag. This one is lightweight and seems well-made. There are enough well-designed pockets to separate my stuff from the kids' stuff and they are very easy to access. This bag holds diapers, toys, clothes and snacks for my 9-month old and diapers and snacks for my 3-year old. This bag is stylish enough to use after my kids are out of diapers.

I purchased this book bag 4mo. ago. It has only had typical diaper bag use so far. I liked all of the storage pockets, it was confortable to wear and man friendly. I also though because it was Columbia that is would be tough to tear up. I was wrong. As was stated in a PP my bag has a completely torn top seam.It began to happen after owning it for only two weeks. If the fabric gets wet at all with a leaky bottle, wet wipes etc. it leaves a stain that won't come out. Also the side net pocket is too small to fit a full size water bottle in easily. The changing pad only fits in the front pocket a certain way or the zipper won't close. This was just a big bummer over all. Don't waste your money. I am contacting the manufacturer to see if they will replace.

Comments about California Innovations Columbia Great Escapade Backpack Diaper Bag / Charcoal:

I was really excited to purchase this product. My husband could carry a nice diaper bag that was both functional and masculine. After only 7-8 months of use it is falling apart at several of the seems. I expected better craftsmanship from a product with the Columbia name on it.

Comments about California Innovations Columbia Great Escapade Backpack Diaper Bag / Charcoal:

We used this diaper bag for 6 months then noted a hole in it. We're not a wear and tear family... our son was born in December and other than peds appointments rarely left the house for a few months so it hasn't seen a lot of use.
It's also far too small. Deep but not wide so you have to unpack the whole thing to get to the bottom. First time mom, now I know better. Get something wider.

Comments about California Innovations Columbia Great Escapade Backpack Diaper Bag / Charcoal:

We had a backpack style diaper bag with my first two children and loved it. We purchased this one hoping to have the same experience, but as other posters have said, it fell apart. The top seam came apart after only 2 months of occasional use. And one of the front zippers gets stuck all the time. I am really disappointed.

Comments about California Innovations Columbia Great Escapade Backpack Diaper Bag / Charcoal:

We purchased this particular bag because I'm left handed and most back-pack type diaper bags are one-strap and designed for right-handers. We haven't use it as a diaper bag yet but did use it to hike. I found the inside smaller than I'd realized, and the straps fit a bit awkwardly - they want to fall off my shoulders. I think it will do OK though.

this was our only diaper bag. What a piece of junk. We have been using this bag for 8 months since our son was born and it basically fell apart in my hands this evening. It is too small for everyday needs unless all you carry is diapers and wipes. the seams have ripped in just about every stress point, the straps are too short when bag is fully loaded, and the zippers are complete trash. thank god this was a gift and i did not spend my money. I hope you wont either

Being Columbia I was sure it would hold up well however, before my son was even 2 months the zipper broke and the seams started coming apart. We were only using it on the weekends too. I love how this backpack looks and the pockets were great. Size-wise, it's small compared to other diaper bags we looked at, but I found it perfect for our uses. I love the design of bag but the construction is not good at all.

This bag was awesome, used it everyday. So easy to carry with a baby. I got it in March and was the only bag I used. Now in September the zippers seam at the top is coming undone, and the seams for thesaurus are coming apart.

My daughter is 5 and I use this bag for when we go to the theme parks. I love the pockets and organization this bag provides. My problem is it won't stay on my shoulders. I like to wear it on one shoulder and the strap slides off my shoulder and the bottom part of the strap bunches up. It won't even stay on if I wear it on both shoulders. It's constantly sliding. To top it off the stitching is coming loose all around the straps after only 2.5 months of use on the weekends only. I wish it didn't have backpack straps and just had a regular strap that you could wear on your shoulder; that would make it perfect for me.
