About Me Parent
This took some time for my nephew to set up but turned out to be a really cool toy. I honestly see him getting bored with it pretty fast though as it does not really do enough to keep his interest long.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought this for my son a few days ago and I was a little skeptical about it because some other reviewers rated the Meon picture makers very poorly. This however has animation and sounds! My son is 7 and he LOVES it! I had to explain how to do it and did the first one with him. That one was a memory game. You put it on the memory game mode and the light sabers flash in a particular order and you have to repeat the pattern. The next picture I had no idea he was even doing it! He did the whole thing by himself and did it perfectly! That one was the room alarm. You set the mode and push a button to arm it then when someone walks near it, it goes off. Also with all the pictures you can use it as a music visualizer! We set it near my computer with music playing and R2D2 was lighting up to the music - neato! :) The only thing negative I can say about it is I really think the age range on it is off! People were saying that their 5 yo's could not put the pegs in and wire it themselves and follow the alphabet/numbers and I agree! 2 years ago my son could never have done this on his own! I would say a good way to tell if your child can do this on their own is this: Can they put larger more complicated lego sets together on their own (or with little help). My son does 7-14 yr lego sets and even higher ones. They really need fairly good fine motor skills, hand/eye coordination, good knowledge of alphabetical order and ability to follow instructions. Hope this helps! :)
