Comments about Childcraft by Sauder Shoal Creek Double Dresser - Matte White:

We ordered this dresser to use as storage and a changing table.

The positive things I will say about the dresser:

- Once it is put together is is VERY sturdy and stable.

- Looks nice.

- There is a decent amount of storage.

Negative things:

- EVERY SINGLE PIECE WAS DAMAGED. Some more than others. I understand that this is not a solid wood, but most of it could have been prevented with better packaging when shipping. Lucky for us the damage was not on the front of anything - an example is the bottom corners of all the drawers were coming apart. Maybe I should have called their customer service.

- This was not the easiest thing to put together, but it wasn't totally horrible either. It may just depend on your level of patience. We really took our time and didn't have any major problems. there are a lot of steps (I am sure this has something to do with the overall sturdiness of the product).

- The hardware is more like a brushed nickle with black paint on it to give it texture - not a huge deal, but worth noting to me. One of the knobs was defective in our batch as well, it just spins on the drawer.

Overall, this is a decent dresser for the price. Again, it is very sound once put together - I have no worries about using this as a changing table. I would have actually given this at least 3 stars had it not been for the damage during shipping. I REALLY, REALLY wish they would have packaged it better. It would have made a huge difference. I would not recommend this dresser to simply for that fact. Why waste your money on something that is damaged.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
