The Cozy Cottage is great for younger children wanting to play with a Calico Critter home. The cottage comes with the Hopscotch bunny sister and some furniture basics.
All the furniture is well made, and pretty durabe for being on the small side. There are some extra small pieces included, so parents should beware of that.
The bunny sister is the same great Calico Critters quality. I really like this dollhouse, and more importantly so does my daughter. You really can't go wrong with this set. I would recommend this playset to others.

I pushed the envelope and got this for my 2.5 year old. Its for supervised play only at the moment. I wanted to see if she would be able to handle one of the bigger houses and more accessories for her 3rd Birthday before shelling out tons of money on it. She loves this cottage and hasn't had any trouble handling any of the small parts. She even takes the ladder off and puts it back on without any trouble. Its actually really helping with her vocabulary as she insists on knowing what each part is called and telling everyone what she is doing with the characters. My only suggestion would be to put a charater in the house that doesn't match one of the family sets (maybe put a different outfit on her or something).

My daughter is 4 and loves her Calico Critters. She has several families (which are all very well made), but had been wanting a house for quite some time. I am so glad I decided to buy this house. It is the perfect size for little hands and even comes with seveal pieces of furniture/accessories. The house is big enough to hold everything with a little bit more room for add ons. There isn't a ton of furniture or accessories to overwhelm a younger child, which I really appreciate.
Another great thing about this set is that it comes with a rabbit figure, so this is house is ready to play with straight from the box. It's a great choice for younger CC fans or to add on to other CC playsets. I highly recommend this set!

My 3 1/2 yr old received this as a gift after her sister (5) was given the townhouse and room sets from Santa. It is the preferred house to play with! Wonderful to start the collection and not too many small pieces for my 3 yr old to get frusterated with. We love CC. Hours and hours of imaginative play.
