Set up was easy. The actual wind up got stuck all the time. I was constantly having to turn the wind up knob a certain way in order for it to continue to play. Taking this back tomorrow and getting a different mobile completetly.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I cannot tell you how many times this thing has fallen apart while we were trying to put it on the crib. IF we keep it, I'm definitely super gluing the post to the base! And yes, we assembled it correctly - with the pegs through the slots and everything.

The other thing that really upset me is that it was oval when we pulled it out of the box. I've tried and tired to get them to reshape to circles, but I don't think the box is large enough to properly package this item for a long period of time.

Also, if you have a crib with slanted siderails, do not plan on putting this on there. First of all, the edge for it to sit on isn't level, so it falls to the front of the crib. Secondly, the top rail on the side of our crib is thicker than the rails it attaches to (if that made ANY sense), so there is no way for me to tighten it without the top bowing out. I seriously damamged our BAND NEW crib tring to get this on.

We have a sleigh style convertable crib, so even if we mount it to the wall, it won't hang out far enough over the crib.

hubby loves this mobile, but I can do without! What a hunk of junk! Just so frustrated! And we've been pretty happy with all the other accessories!

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
