The blue line has a battery powered train that takes passengers to the modern station where it meets up with the red line train. The lift goes and up and down using the crank, taking passengers to their platforms. The trains have plenty of tracks and switches to ride on for a fun playscape. My four year old son loves trains and has many sets including Geotrax, Tomica and Thomas. We saw these Brio trains at 60 percent off, it looked like they were discontinuing it. Of course at that price we had to snap up a Brio set. My son loves the two-level station, two sets of metro-style trains including one that is battery powered. The set also includes five play people. It's too bad our store doesn't carry it anymore, we like to get some of the other accessories. The only cons to this set is that the tracks can come apart easily and the doors on the trains can also come off. Minor issues, both are easily remedied.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The best thing about this set is how much you get for the money. Considering that Brio will last for generations, it's almost like it's free. I love the train platform and the arch bridge. My son is only five months old, but his eyes are completely glued to the train when it is going around the track. I look forward to many years of family fun with his Brio.
