All my kids love to play chess, so I got them this chess set. It's very handsome for the price and I'd recommend it, but not for everyday use. The pieces are not solid glass, but hollow. They're somewhat fragile. In fact my son broke a pawn within the first week. Also, the board, although elegant looking, is a little bit hard to see. The etched squares are hard to distinguish from the clear squares. We have to place it on a black background to really see the squares enough to play a game. For the price, it's a good set. Probably not the best set for younger players though as they need something more durable.

I really like the look and feel of the chess pieces and the chess board. I did find the board difficult to use until I put a black cloth under it.

Would be great to be able to purchase extra pieces that match.
