Just like everyone else, it will work only when plugged in but once you remove it it does not turn on. Also purchased as a gift ahead of time and past the return date. My son is so disappointed-what a waste! wish I had looked online before purchasing in the store!

I brought 2 blue ones, one for each of my sons. I opened one, charged it and it wouldn't turn on once charged. Which I thought was very weird. Opened the second one, charged it, and that one wouldn't turn on either. The screen does show when it is connected to the computer but other than that the player does not work. I tried to contact customer service. There is NO phone number only an email. I emailed them 3 times in the last week and still no response. I should of splurged and brought the kids an ipod instead. My kids are disappointed as well as I. Now, hopefully, Toys r us will be nice enough and give me a refund.

I would love to be able to use this product but it does not work! It will only turn on if plugged into a power source. I bought this for my daughter for her birthday. The problem is that it is past the number of days to return it because I bought it early and then just tried it a few days ahead of her party.

Don't purchase this item! I got this exact blue one (as well as a red one) and neither one works! We charged them up as stated (at least 3 hours, but no more than 8) and they won't work. The player works if it's plugged into our laptop or into the wall, but will not work once you remove the cord. So it's pointless to use it! Riptunes customer service is unresponsive- won't answer the phones and they don't respond to emails. Waste of money- don't purchase!

I bought one of these in blue and one in red for my two daughters. The blue one seemed to charge fine, but never moved on to the menu screen after charging like the red one did. I loaded music on and still could not get the menu to appear. The red one works fine (it's only been one day), but i went back to the store to exchange the blue one for another red one. One positive- the store personnel were great about it. But i wish they would have agreed w/me about taking the rest of the blue ones off the display. The woman at the return counter referenced a different family a couple of months ago who had returned three of the blue ones. I would never recommend this to anyone.

Item would not turn on. Could copy files to it when connected to PC, but as soon as you removed it you could not power it on. Almost like th battery is not connected. I actually ordered 2 of these. A Red and this Blue one. The Red one I havnt had any issues with, but someone was sleeping on the job on these blue ones. I contacted ToysRus and they sent another Blue one and low and behold when that one showed up it did the same thing. Never had that happen before. Concated ToysRus and requested a refund.

bought two of these one in red and blue they didnt come with a charger other then the usb cord per pamplet can buy regular charger online which is more then the device. One will not charge or turn on and one will not load music. These were one of the worse buys i have ever made and will being taking them back never to buy a produ

It Sucked giving this to my son on Christmas learning it wouldnt play or hold a charge for that matter.
