Product Description

CHOKING HAZARD - Small parts. Not for children under 3 yrs.

Build a LEGO replica of the Brandenburg Gate with the LEGO Architecture Brandenburg Gate (21011) building set!

Commissioned by King Frederick William II of Prussia as a sign of peace, the Brandenburg Gate is one of Berlin's most important monuments both as an architectural landmark and historic symbol for over 200 years. The grandest of a series of 18 gates through which the city was accessed, the Brandenburg Gate was constructed between 1788 and 1791 from the designs of architect Carl Gotthard Langhans and was inspired by the Propylaea in Athens. Built in sandstone and comprised of 12 Doric columns, the gate's crown jewel is the Quadriga, a sculpture of a chariot and 4 horses depicting Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory, created by Johann Gottfried Schadow.

The LEGO Architecture Brandenburg Gate (21011) features:
  • Architectural replica of the real-world Brandenburg Gate
  • Booklet included with details on design and history
  • Contains 362 pieces

I got this set for Christmas, after wanting it for months.I have wanted it because I love Germany, and having been to Berlin intensified my love for this country. So when I found out about this set, I asked to get it for Christmas, and Father Christmas granted my wish. The set I got was a good one, very good in fact. And now I will talk about the good bits, bad bits and improvements that can be made. The set is large, you get a good amount for the money you spend. It looks a lot like The Brandenburg Gate (well it should, seeing how it's a model of the gate) and the LEGO team have done good replicating it's immense beauty. The brick colours are right and the two signs naming the gate in English and German (both languages I speak) is a charming bonus. there are few bad points to talk about, but the one I feel is worth mentioning is a nitpick, but otherwise something to mention. The green tiles were a challenge to put on, even with rather thin fingers and short nails. It wasn't specifically the amount of green tiles, but just the awkwardness of putting them on.Though I forgive this, because I know if they didn't have the tiles then it wouldn't look authentic, and it is kind of rewarding to look at when you've finally finished putting the tiles on. I have no real improvements for the mode, it's a good quality model which looks accurate to the real Brandenburg gate.I cannot really suggest improvements apart from maybe simpler instructions. I'd say go into the finer details of the gate, but that would have to be either as sculpted pieces (which would make the set more expensive with it's one off pieces) or annoying stickers. But I don't care, for what I got, I got a lot.

It 's definitely a piece that could not miss in my collection, it is an important part of history. But building it brings out the absolute lack of details. Up to a total disappointment as it was reproduced the Quadriga, an important and characteristic part of the Brandenburg Gate. I'm really sorry, because I wanted so much this LEGO. I hope that in the future You will achieve a larger and more detailed model of the Brandenburg Gate.

Great Replica

By GlenB92

Comments about LEGO Architecture Brandenburg Gate (21011):

After coming back from a Europe trip and witnessing the amazing brandenburg gate, I had to purchase this architecture series. It is quite an intricate piece, as there a lot of small parts that make up the features. It definitely does resemble the real thing and I was very impressed with the detailing. Definitely recommend for those who enjoy life like lego and the landmark series

If it is so tiny, is it "gate" or "door"?

By DeliciousScout

from Santa Susanna

Comments about LEGO Architecture Brandenburg Gate (21011):

I can not really complain about this set: it has the price-brick ratio, the size (sometimes it matters, even more with the result of a big monument given the combination of mostly tiny pieces) and the appearance it needs to be an excellent choice. Since most of the sets are based on the "minimalism" rule, I must say that the horses on the top are brilliantly interpreted by those megaphone-like bricks. Even some minifigures can be put on or in the set, so it looks like they are in one of those amusement parks in which there are little replicas of some given buildings. Definitely, a must-have for the ones who like enjoying a fine piece of art/work in their desks, shelfs...

Comments about LEGO Architecture Brandenburg Gate (21011):

This item met and exceeded my expectations and my nephew was thrilled to get it. He had no trouble putting it together (12 years old) and though he loves the Lego brand, he had never seen or done an architecture Lego before. I loved that the information on the Brandenburg Gate came with it.

This model is simple and detailed. I completed it in 20 minutes. A great representation of the Gate. Now, why would there be a "girls" tag?

      nice to have!

      By shmeepea

      from Glasgow

Comments about LEGO Architecture Brandenburg Gate (21011):

I enjoyed building this but it's not as fun as other sets, I had to have this as I adore Berlin and the gate holds a particular fond memory for me. I would recommend it to someone like myself who appreciates what it is, not really for younger lego fans as the building process wasn't too exciting.. but i love the end product! x

Comments about LEGO Architecture Brandenburg Gate (21011):

I liked the simplistic design and build and it is a cute set looking at it. I also like how they imitated the chariot design on top. There are no bad sides to this product but if you are in to playing with sets do not buy! But if you are like me and like to display them then this is the set for you. Overall very good buy.

Comments about LEGO Architecture Brandenburg Gate (21011):

This is a really interesting LEGO set, and I really like it, I got it from some of my family that lived in Germany, and it looks a whole lot like the real Brandenburg Gate! I recommend!
