I was in Toy's RUS to see if they sold SOM Baseball Express I ask a sales person if they had it he had no clue what I was talking about I went to another store to see if they had it same result bottom line I visited two other stores and of cause same thing no SOM the reason why I went there is that I 'am a die hard SOM player and my concern was the next generation of players once you roller the dice you'll never stop that's how great the game is

Can't review the product because even though Toys R Us said it was in stock, it wasn't. But, they didn't tell me until a week after the order. Lousy customer service!

My son has fallen in love with baseball and we are always on the field or outside on our front lawn having a catch. I have recently bought him Strat-O-Matic Baseball Express so that he can get his baseball fix on a rainy day and he has fallen in love with this game just as much as Baseball itself. He plays everyday and it was a great way to teach him the game of Strat-O-Matic that i grew up with!

My buddies have been playing Strat-O-Matic for years now, and while I wanted to get in on the action, it always looked a little overwhelming. Baseball express was a perfect introduction the world of Strat-O-Matic and after teaching myself the fundamentals of the game, I was able to move on to the full version of the game and play with my friends all the time! My son is 4 years old as well. He loves baseball, and has been asking me to play "your new baseball game" on occasion. We don't actually play a real game, but we randomly choose an AL pitcher and then we just at through the lineup, resetting the baserunners every time there are 3 outs. He always asks to be Ryan Braun, but we use the other cards and I tell him a little bit about each player, even though he doesn't understand most of it.

He rolls the dice and I have him count the white die and tell me the result, and then we advance runners. With each AB, I explain to him what happened by mimic the motion of swinging a bat and then showing him where the ball landed on the field so he can visualize things.

The other day, Jered Weaver gave up 3 walks on 3 AB and then Matt Holiday hit a grand slam...he was pretty excited to see all of that happen.

This is exactly what I was waiting for...my son to get older and start experience some of this with me.

P.S. I've also played a few games by myself when I'm just looking for some baseball and don't have time for the full game. This express version works perfectly for that scenario.

If you like baseball and want to get away from video games and TV, this is a wonderful way to harness your imagination.

My 7 year old son can't get enough of it. He asks me to play strat o matic every day.
We have the WII and PS 3 and a few play-station portables, yet he asks to play strat o matic.
He and I play and he also plays with my 11 year old son. The game comes with a coupon so that you can create a playing card in your childs name. We received it by mail very quickly and he uses it with the game. He loves it.

The game is great. My son is learning who the players are as well as the intricies of the game like when to bunt and how to decide the safe-probablity of a baserunner trying to take an extra base on a hit. He's also learning how to understand the meaning of the players statistics.

My son's Personalized Card arrived in the mail yesterday. We had a ton of stuff to do yesterday evening. When we got home, I told him we had time to play 1 game of something before he went to bed. He would normally choose Mario Super Sluggers or something on his Wii. But, he said he wanted to play a game of Strat Baseball Express with his new card.

His player went 1 for 4 with a walk and 2 RBIs, and his team beat me 6-4 in 10 innings. One of the RBIs tied the game in the top of the 9th.
