To be able to understand why LEGO has been successful for so long, just look to the name. LEGO originally got its name from founder Ole Kirk Christiansen who combed the Danish words "Leg Got" which means "play well". He later realized that LEGO in Latin translates to "I put together." The LEGO set became a standard of creative play for children worldwide, unlocking the creativity to build vehicles, buildings, cities and more. LEGO currently produces about 20 billion LEGO bricks a year and has sold over 400 billion LEGOs in their history -- enough for every person on the planet to have over 60 LEGOs each!

          Good set, I tweaked it

          By AndrewO

          from Denver

Comments about LEGO Dino Ocean Interceptor (5888):

I got this set primarily because I wanted to see if I could collect all the Dino kits. First of all, the packaging says 'exclusive dino', but the included pteranodon also comes with the Tower Takedown set. It's still a cool piece, and the flying motion looks great. I might hang the plane and dino from the ceiling soon. The jet-ski is neat, and I like the way it attaches to the plane, but as someone else noted, then you have nowhere to put the jet-ski driver. The plane itself looks more like a Star Wars vehicle and less like a plane, but that could be because of the bright yellow color. I found the net kept hanging out of the bottom, so I swapped the net out with the Triceratops Trapper, and put two gas missiles in there, like torpedoes. The button launches those just as well, and the net looks pretty cool mounted in the Trapper's launcher.

          Good but Fragile...

Comments about LEGO Dino Ocean Interceptor (5888):

This is great set in theory, but the execution is a tad off as parts of the set easily come apart during light-to-moderate play. The aircraft itself is a fun build and a great idea but the wings are not well constructed and come off very easily. The net-launcher on the belly of the plane works well and is a great addition. Also, I like the fact that the plane can tow the jet-ski but wish the minifig could still fit in it when doing so. This isn't the best Dino set but a welcome, unique addition to any collection.

To start off this is my first ever lego dino set i have gotten and im NOT dissipointed. first of all theres an exclusive green pterodactyl (all the other ones are brown). as for the minifigs the set includes in addition to the common sweaty dino hunter a sidekick. the plane itself has many other uses then just a dino capturer.an if you built it right it can drop a net which is very cool.I have many other things to say BUT let's just skip to the pros and cons pros. flick missle mini speed boat net exclusive dino 2 minfigs propellers cons. peices fall apart net doesnt always work well thats it for my reveiw cya 8)

          Great!!

Comments about LEGO Dino Ocean Interceptor (5888):

This is the only Dino set I have. It's got to be the best out of all of them. First off, the minifigs. It comes with two. I love the guy in the green jumpsuit. He could be a good WWII American paratrooper if you give him one of my custom helmets. He's has his trusty Stg44 without it's magazine. Not so trusty then huh? You can attach a black minifigure hand to the bottom, and that's a nice magazine. But getting off topic. The next fig is a little.. Weird.. Not much to say about him. The dinosaur is pretty cool. I'm no expert on them. I just thought this was a cool set. The plane is my favorite out of everything in this set. It has uses beyond catching dinos. I also realized that Lego has brought one of my favorite..uh..pieces? back. The netting!! The netting is good, too. You can attach it to a pole and make it a nice rope climbing attraction at a playground. Overall, this is a VERY cool set!
