better than FP tag along doodle!

We debated over the fisher price tag along doodle and this one for the longest time. After alot of pro's and con's, we decided to go with this one for our 2.5 yr old son.

I love that the pen on this one more closely resembles a normal pen shape and size which helps him transition to pen/pencil and paper. I also like that it has a pen holder where the pen actually goes inside verses just clicks in. The string that holds the pen is longer on this one than the tag along and the horizontal shape better suits our sons drawing prefrence compared to the vertical shape of the tag along. My son also likes both "handles"... I've caught him using it as a steering wheel in his carseat before :)

The only disadvantage to this one is the shape. It doesn't fit snug in his toddler size backpack like the other one would have, but it does fit. We just leave it in the car, or, if we do take it inside (to the doctor office for example) he just carries it. since it's light weight, it's not a big problem. Also, as with any doodle pad, sometimes you have to erase the screen a time or 2 more than you'd like to get that "bright white" back... thats something mommy is picky about though. My son doesn't seem to mind at all!

Overall, we love this travel sized doodle pad! Our 5 year old twins also play with it whenever they can get their hands on it. So far it's been very durable and has held up well to being tugged on, dropped and stepped on by 3 little boys! I would give it 5 stars if it fit snug in the toddler backpack like the tag along. I would highly recommend this!
